Gang rapes mother...

I almost vomited reading this:

Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.

Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.

The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed. Authorities said the two would be charged as adults.

"Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said.

According to the police report, a man knocked on the woman's door at about 9 p.m. and told her he had a flat tire. The mother and son, whom police have not identified, went outside and were ambushed by a group of gun-wielding suspects.

The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them.

The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report.

The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said.

White said more arrests were expected, but he would not say whether authorities had identified additional suspects. The teens in custody were not cooperating, but Lawson confessed to taking part in the attack, White said. Walker has denied involvement, White said.

DNA evidence in a condom found in the victims' home linked Lawson to the crime, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to Walker at the scene.

The victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries and have been released from the hospital, White said.

"They're going through the county victim services for counseling," he said.

Lawson lived in Dunbar Village, the hardscrabble project where the attack occurred. Walker was apparently visiting a friend there, White said.

Authorities believe the suspects all knew each other from the neighborhood, but they don't think they knew the victims directly.

Prosecutors have 21 days from the time a suspect is arrested to formally file charges. Lawson was arrested Tuesday. Walker was arrested Thursday.

Walker made a first court appearance on Friday, after which his father, also named Nathan Walker, spoke briefly.

"My son has a good heart," the elder Walker said outside court. "I can't believe my son would do something like this. I don't teach my son violence so I don't understand."

Walker's attorney, Robert Gershman, said Friday he intended to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of his client once charges are formally filed. He would not comment further.

A telephone message left at the office of Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned.

I'm not a parent so I don't understand parents being blind to the problems of their children, but when I saw those words "I don't teach my son violence" I scoffed. Instead of saying he teaches his son non-violence, he says he doesn't teach his son to go around raping and torturing. Well what kind of father does?

I completely understand supporting a family member no matter what, but that is a private thing, not something to go out and boast about. Is his relationship with his son so weak that he thinks it will suffer if he doesn't express undying love to his son in the media? Whenever I see something like this I think, you don't know your son at all man.

You know, I have that feeling right now when you keep trying to open your mouth to SAY something...and just nothing comes out.

This insanity is just so...

I mean, these guys broke in, rapped a women, forced her son to join in, poured a liquid that may well have blinded this kid for the rest of his life into his eyes...

I just can't quite wrap my hands around how you get a large group of people joining together to DO this to someone they don't know at all..

I cannot image this not being linked with drugs or some fucked-up cult or both. Rape is bad enough, organized rape is downright sick, making her 12 year old son join in... is just a whole new level of madness.

This happens in African civil wars all the time, except that they usually murder the son (or father or brother) afterwards, and then thrust sticks or bayonets up inside the woman's vagina. It's such a huge problem that there's whole organizations devoted to providing relief for women permanently crippled with the vaginal fistulae which can result and arranging for the often multiple surgeries required to repair the damage.

No, there's nothing new to human savagery represented in this article, just the disturbing fact that it happened in West Palm Beach.

I agree. I've been doing the same thing for about 5 minutes. I just can't wrap my head around this. What kind of thoughts are running through these kids heads? They are so YOUNG. Forcing the 12 year old to participate...that's just so disturbing on so many levels. These poor people. My God I hope they can get through this. I feel so bad for them.

Have you ever known the parent of a violent or disruptive child? Let's just say it usually doesn't take long to see why the child is the way he is, because the parents are typically hostile, belligerent assholes. They say shit like that when their kids get caught doing something horrible because they know they're supposed to. But for the kid's whole life up to that point, the parent has either completely neglected his childraising duties or he's actively encouraged the child to be a cruel SOB because it means he's "tough".

Mindless, unprovoked violence - the worst crime one can commit, IMO...
This crime obviously derives from complete apathy towards the suffering of others combined pure sadism, and there's no excuse for this because it goes well beyond sorts of mental disorders - there's no way all of the ten shits would have the same mental condition that would warrant this kind of behavior!
This kind of people shouldn't be allowed into society...

And it's not like those fools are unique - I once saw a show on the local TV network, just about this kind of behavior. Long story short, a bunch of European teens figured out it would be funny to knife random people in the middle of a street while filming it... That's just one of the examples.
To tell you the truth, when I saw those morons laughing their asses off to the sight of a man bleeding to death, I felt really sick. And I'm not one of the guys who are afraid of blood...

I'm really glad the little fucks would be charged like adults, with little luck they'll all get hanged.

Hopefully police can get them to identify their co-conspirators as well. I can't stand the thought of 8/10 of these sick fucks getting away.

Spot on. Such useless excuses for parents will generally deny that their child could ever do anything wrong. I don't remember much of it, but when I was in kindergarten, when I was 4 or 5, there was this one kid who was the leader of the rest and decided I'd be a good target for bullying and picking on. From what m,y parents told me, it went on for a fairly long time and they had to bring it up and the whole mess came to light when the father of one of the boys asked his son if there was any bullying going on and the boy told him that it was planned and organized. When my parents brought it up in a meeting with the other parents and the kindergarten supervisor, the main instigator's mother actually went and said that "her boy had waited so long for his turn to be the leader of the gang that there was nothing wrong with him doing stuff like that" etc. You can all probably guess how well THAT went down...

Another asshole I've got personal experience of was the fuckwit who broke my nose cartilage (not the bone, thankfully) when I was in 7th grade. His mother was a shrill bitch who flat out refused to believe her son could do anything wrong despite the attack being completely unprovoked. At least that one got the worst of the exchange even if I didn't break anything in his face.

So that father's disclaimers are worth exactly nothing. His son is a worthless piece of shit and so is he for defending him when the evidence is clear.

I don't really know what to say.

All I could do when reading this article was to breathe deeply and clench my fists in futility. While I can't predict my reaction if my son would ever do something so horrible, I like to think the only thing I'd have to say to the media is "I have no son anymore".

Of course, I really do hope I'll do a better job of raising my own child than this. This is stuff of nightmares (or should be) for people planning to have children...

This definitely sounds like something out of the ALKQN or MS-13 initiation playboook, and West Palm Beach is loaded with its own street gangs. Attacks like this one are far too common, it's just rare that anyone is caught in the aftermath.

Gangs are one Alpha Male, leading a buncha wannabes who think they are tough, and do whatever the Alpha Male says just like sheep.

All of the gang participated, but it was all the Gang Leader's idea. The rest were just too brainless or scared to say no.

Bury them all under the jail... but the Gang Leader should be singled out for special treatment.

Given the information we have now, it looks like the only members of the set involved in the act were initiates. It's like making your bones in the Mafia--the officers rarely get involved and they've got dozens of people who'll lie under oath. On top of that, the set'll use intimidation tactics against the initiates and their families to compromise whatever testimony they might offer. Cracking street gangs it tough work.

They need to get the other boys, and innocent kids ought not to go through what the police are probably going to do to get the boys to confess and identify their accomplices. getting false confessions would just add another horrendous heartbreak on top of this affair.

I dont know what to say about the victims, I dont even know how you would even attempt to formulate the thought of saying "Its Ok, they caught the bad guys." to them. I really hope they will be able to get through it though.

As for the offenders, we need to implant small explosive charges in their testicles, and make them watch as we detonate them. Then when they are tossed in prison, the guards should announce what these kids did, and turn a blind eye to any "accidents" that happen to them.

Why do morons like you automatically assume everyone gets assraped in prison? Some inmates actually do the raping, and guess what, idiot - violent offenders are usually the ones to do that.

Incidents like this remind me why I'm for the death penalty in most cases and a life sentence in other cases of rape. Dangerous animals like this cannot be trusted amongst normal human beings or even imprisoned criminals.

Unfortunately, the problems with rape laws and making rape a crime carrying a death sentence are legion.

They'll almost certainly break these two twerps. Hopefully they'll be charged as adults: a bunch of teenaged snots aren't going to have a good way of it in a prison.

No, I dont think they'll get raped, nor do I think that everyone gets raped in prison.

However, I do think that some inmates will not tolerate what these bastards did, and when the guards suddenly leave, and they are alone with some guys who did something like this, then they might shank them, I wasnt implying they would be raped.
