Do you guys think this is the real requirements?
That is most probably a *very* low-level requirement description to fool people into buying it...

My machine ran the e3 doom demo well enough..average of between 60-30fps..but when i shot up zombies in really active areas it went down to 0.
My computer:
AMDXP 1700
ATI radeon 9700
512mb RAM
Videologic Sonicfury
6.1 speaker surround
black and chrome case with blue window and uv cold cathode
17" monitor.

No. I don't think geocities allows direct linking of images.
EDIT: If you copy and paste the addy to your addy bar, you can see them, and they will be viewable when you return to the thread. It's a Geocities deal.

-pentium or AMD 1.5 GHrz
-512mb of ram
-Geforce 4
Much more sensible i think...

What website? I wanna know because THAT WEBSITE IS FUCKING LAME!!!
I just LOVE your in-depth explanation.
I fully believe that Doom 3 can "run" on a system with the specs, mentioned above. You'd need to turn details down REALLY low, but, really, the most graphically amazing things about the game is the bump-mapping and the lighting... stuff which would run primarily off the video card (and, hell, they had Doom 3 running on a GF3 two years ago at a Mac expo).
Keep in mind, however, that "running" a game is a very subjective process. Technically, you can "run" a game on a $2 calculator.
Has anyone else gotten hold of the demo and tried it out? Cause I tried to run it and all it gives me is this grey window that sucks up 50% of my CPU usage.

I got it to work... but then again.. It runs too slow to even be played
However I saw some kind of patch that was supposed to speed things up, so I'll have to check that out.
I just hope it works in the end.. the lights are so amazing.
THere's some great lighting in the toilet scene, the lights are swinging and shadows are being cast all over the shop.
John Carmack said he could release it now, if people didn't mind having 60 fps on the best computers, so all the time it's being delayed will be for us and our framerates...
So whern's it coming out? Last time i checked play.com it was scheduled for august or something..

I need to get an alienware... and I've seen the bathroom scene before, simply incredible. Is that scene from this demo? If so which map?
