A brief poem

So this will be my world today
All else will fade away
become bleak and dreary gray
And I will go and play
in the land of make-believe

Author's Note: I wrote this while observing the skyline from the broad open hallway of my workplace, seeing the juxtaposition of green trees, concrete highway and the glass building. It came to me fairly rapidly, unbidden, as I contemplated my future as a computer programmer. Though it started a little dark, I prefer to assign a happy tone to this poem -- even though I don't get outside much, I get to play with the thoughts of computers.
