Shit. I have honestly been trying to help the kid on the board and in his life for what seems like well over a year, and seriously, this is the type of responses and reactions I have received over and over. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt that it would just "click" one day, and he would finally stop shitting all over the chances and good will he got from people and the board in general.

It's actually sort of a relief that everyone gets it now.

Except Coffee. That douchebag just had a vendetta.

Mang, I chatted for him just for one night and shit, now I realize that he's a total shitpiece. Jesus Christ he was just so goddamn annoying.

I can't believe you of the chat spent like years with him like that. Holy crap.

I really thought he had improved with the name-change. The sad thing is if he were still around I'd still probably be trying to help him not be a childish douche. Sadder still, the next person like him that comes along, I'll probably try to help as well.

He had to know, deep down, that this would backfire on him! Perhaps that's what he wanted...

Just watch - he will go to a friend's house and make a new account. Someone like that will not stop until he shows that he can "Win" against the system.

I still say I feel sorry for him. I don't know that he was malicious - just...misguided, desperate. Or that's what he wants me to think and he really IS the master troll of trolls. Anyway. what's done is done.

Hell, he even decided that he will ask for people to un-ban him in a specific month next year and pretend like there is nothing wrong.

When people ask you to change or get lost, you might want to do some reflecting about your own mistakes, which I what I've did and still trying to do.

You don't give yourselves excuses like "I can still act like a retard for two more days! " or pretending the fact that he was never an idiot.

Schuyler Colfax, if you are ever reading this from another person's computer, I can tell you this. Listen to what people have to say about you from time to time. If they says you are still an idiot, well perhaps you still are. Don't judge yourself and run around screaming to everyone that you have improved.

Show it to people that you know like your friends, relatives and associates.

Colfax brought this on himself. Two weeks ago, he dared the senate to open up discussion on him. Yes, that's right, in testing he pretty much posted "you can't touch me/are you afaid of me?".

I'd have permabanned the little shit so fast his head would have spun and we could have done without the whole drama circus around it. True that we would have missed the lulz Shroomy provided, but fucking A, somebody does that and dares the staff to go after them, damn right they get banned. Immediately, irrevocably, no questions asked, no mercy given.

Maybe it got overlooked due to the overwhelming signal-to-noise of his whining? Yeah, it shouldn't have been, but man a whole lot of the stuff that comes out of *that guy* is pretty inane and you kinda just tune it out and groan "be quiet" rather than actually listen to what the guy says - until somehow you recall something important later, but then it's kind of too late and something awesome/horrible has already happened.

I've ignored Pwnage for 99% of his career on this board because he was just so pathetic one person making fun of him was pretty much the equivalent of a bandwagon. I and others knew if his access to this board ever seriously came up we would *really* see the worst in him. It was obvious how obsessive he was.

I give guys like Hav credit for trying to help him, but frankly, we've had plenty of trolls in our history just like him who got banned way faster and with a lot less discussion. So if anyone could elaborate, why *was* their so much debate about him in the first place? He was basically just trekdestroyer 2.0.

Never once in his entire history on this board did he make so much as one post that was interesting, funny, or usefull.

I'll guess it's because SC managed to mostly stay off the radars of most Senators and mods because he stayed mostly in Testing and the venting threads in the HoS. Even when I was modding testing, my usual reaction to an SC post was to just ignore it. Trekdestroyer, on the other hand, fucked around in the regular discussion forums. Trekdestroyer also managed to jump onto my radar really early--his very first posts necroed two-year-old threads in order to suck up to Mike. After that, I and a few other mods kept an eye on him.

And for all that, Trekdestroyer hung around laming this place up for years before he made a racist joke about a supermod and got his ass thrown out the door.

Thank you first. Second, IMO I thought that the kid got a rough start because of his initial name. He got bagged on constantly for that and being 15, he didn't handle it very well. Then, he seemed sincere about getting a fresh start with a new name and trying to make himself better. Once he got it, he seemed to be OK, but then he started to try and emulate some of the other members like Coffee and Stark, and he just never came close to getting it down and it completely backfired on him and just made people jump his shit. That was when he started to revert back to his old form. We (Me, Ford Perfect, Mr. Coffee, Tim31, The Spartan even Stark and Flagg, who both hated the kid, and others) tried the cool nickname thing and it once again worked, but as before it was short lived. He just couldn't find a "personality" and never tried to improve his contributions as much as he worked on trying to fit in. Maybe if he had done that, we wouldn't be here.

So to answer your question... personally, I don't like when people get picked on and I give people the benefit of the doubt, probably more than they actually deserve. In Colfax's case, I just didn't think he got a good break with his name choice and I thought if he could get past that and just age a little with some friendly advice and guidance, he would be a pretty cool kid. Basically like what Chitty did. Unfortunately, he is just a dumbass.
