Could a forum about SW vs SG ever be considered in SD.NET?

A failed experiment whereby board users were invited to advise the Senate, and instead attempted to replace the Senate.

Could a forum about SW vs SG ever be considered in SD.NET?

I ask because such threads do come up often in the OS forums anyhow and the ST vs Wars at this point is nothing but a beaten to the pulp dead horse!

If you mean 'a place for all your retarded threads to go' we already have the HoS.

The whole vs debate thing is pretty much a done deal these days; the methodology is so well-trodden.

The threshold for creating a new forum is very high--basically, a single subject has to generate so much traffic that it pushes other topics off the front page. SW v SG doesn't generate a fraction of that traffic.

Stargate's actual tech and power levels are also harder to quantify; all we have are the movie, the two series, and...what? No novels, no technical commentaries, no nothing. Desire to compare can't fill the holes, apparently.

Since it's you who asks, the chances of any such forum being created just went from negligible (due to the reasons Red listed) to negative probabilities. Does that answer your question?

Also, the only time we've heard numbers are;
1 - Hyperdrive speeds for Gou'ald ships, and Earth ships. We can make guestimates for Asguard + Ancient ships
2 - We know how big a Gatebuster (From Season 9) is supposed to be, and we have numbers from an alternate universe for a weapon Apothis was using to blow up earth.

Beyond it, that's it. The rest if reactionary dialogue at best.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Honestly if I had to lay odds on any franchise getting its own forum/subforum I would bet on 40K being the one, and I doubt that's happening any time in the near future.

There's no topic/franchise that generates enough traffic currently to merit a separate subforum.

The express purpose of this forum was originally Star Wars VS Star Trek discussions.

Go go wayback machine
The old list of forums was (October 2002)

Star Wars VS Star Trek
Pure Star Wars
Fanfics
Other Sci-Fi
Science, Logic, and Morality
Off-Topic

Hall of Shame
Testing
And the private moderator forum.

We've grown tons since then but it took a full year before we added pure Star Trek and all our other forums were added over the last few years. Due to demand and nothing else. Star Wars VS anything else won't generate traffic, Other Sci-Fi is about as active as SW v ST and that's on a dozen different topics, I don't see any need for any Verses forum until traffic in Other Sci-Fi demands it.

All of this just because I happened to ask? :o I can perfectly understand the traffic not giving merit to such a forum as other governors and citizens of this board have posted but why on Earth just me asking the whole thing somehow jumps to negative probabilities? Are you saying that if had been considered and I had asked it would have been thrown out just because I did? That does not make sense! :wtf: And what red listed reasons are those you are referring too? Others have pointed out that the traffic does not merit it and that we do not have a clear and concise picture of SG tech save a few things, now are those the things you mentioned as being red lined or what exactly then?

To everyone else thanks for being so candid in answering this question...

Because you're a dumbass. Your grammar is very poor, you've gotten a ton of your threads locked both over here and at spacebattles, and you have no logic. Want an example? How about here, where you call out a specific member, and a mod no less, in an act of utter dumbness that makes it a wonder you didn't get banned?

I have have not gotten any of threads locked back at SpaceBattles and over here actually most of them ended in the HOS especially the earlier ones I made here. Still throwing out an idea just because you do not like who asked it makes no sense whatsoever, but according to most governors and citizens who posted here the reason is actually that the traffic and lack of solid answers about SG tech does not merit such a forum.I very much consider my question answered at this point, the rest is just obvious flame baiting.

Since you don't seem to get it, suggestions for board changes coming from someone with a very poor signal/noise ratio have less credibility than suggestions from someone who actually contributes well thought out posts.

Coiler, Stark, General Zod

Shut the hell up.

Unless you have something to add or intend to answer his question then you are violating DR:2. Even you are the firm belief that Punkmister is a drooling idiot, jumping into threads in which he posts just to insult him is Vendetta style behavior. Even if it can be demonstrated that Punkmister is an utter fool, until he says something foolish, you don't call him a fool. Once he does feel free. Every time he says it again feel free to call him a bigger fool. But do not keep calling him a fool when discussing something else entirely. (Feel free if that new thing is also dumb to call him a fool for that too)

Stark at least bothered to answer Punkmister's question so he gets a partial pass from me on this issue but Coiler and General Zod shut the fuck up. Punkmister asked a legitimate(If worded poorly) question, that question has been answered.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
