I have been BANNED from Rapture Ready by daring to dissent on their opinion of Israel. Bean, I deserve five points. I can copy the arguments here if you wish.

Edit: just noticed that you aren't in the ATJ... in which case the point system doesn't apply to you.

He never applied.

And I was banned after a single post there where I politely pointed out that the Israeli state was formed after a terrorist campaign, so why do they suddenly have the right to smack down the Palestinians over it?

Their arguements were absolutely pathetic. Basically, I was banned for 'not knowing the facts' even though I provided five differant sources, all agreeing that the Israelis' struck first in the Six Days War.

Apparently, Israel is on the verge of being annhilated by these terrible Arab states, despite the fact that the IDF has owned these Arab states many times in the past.

Oh, and for condeming Israeli oppression of the Palestinians, I'm automatically an anti-Semitic, despite the fact that I'm both Christian and best friends with a Jew.

I guess I was really banned for 'not knowing the facts that ignorant fundies construct in their mind'.

And now they're raving about how easily I was smacked down, when, in reality, their only refutation to my points was 'Israel is expanding to it's olden borders'.

To which I reply 'So, Italy has the right to go out and expand to the Roman Empire?'

To which they were strangely silent.

Rapture Ready is a total tar-baby, IMHO.

Cyril-- I hope you're also monitoring the "Israel Killing Palestinians" thread; I just hope you (or anyone else) understands that I want to stick up for the lives of the Israeli people, not justify the actions of their gov't (which I think suck big rocks and is wrong about the occupations).

But because of my ties and the fact that many friends are still there, it is hard for me to remain objective... but I do try hard to realize that criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitism, and if I ever imply that point it out because it is unintentional...

Um... I think that weemadando is quoting that himself to inspire you to battle. It was not the message that the admin sent him, that was probably a form letter saying "Your account has been unbanned" or some such. I say that based on the fact that that's the only interpretation that makes any damned sense. Not that fundies are well known for making sense though...

I post the greatest inspirational speech I know to rally our troops for a renewed assault...

They didn't send it.

I don't think that they'd be able to comprehend the greatness of that work.

Technically Chaucer wrote in old english, Shakespeare in middle. As in britain before the 13th century none of the languages are identifiable as English. Check The Riverside Chaucer for more details. Has a big section in the introduction about the language. Unsurprisingly.
