A trek idea of mine

This something I've been thinking, but desided if it's a fanfic or series idea.

The basic idea is this, during post-Nemesis era Federation (and others AQ/BQ powers) are attacked some unknown enemy and early part of story the heroes very slowly try figure out who are the aliens attacking and later part of story trying to wn the war.

I think that's a great idea. Personally I'd like to see them fight the Breen again in a big way for all of your mentioned reasons:

1. Mysterious

2. Seem to be dark

3. Seem to be untrustworthy

4. Seem set on the idea of conquring Earth and wanted to Stewart the planet as noted in DS9

Breen too well known (and aren't really that powerfull). the Aliens I have been thinking of are powerfull and total unknown (you don't even know their true name until very late in the story).

Remember that TNG episode "Conspiracy?" You know, the one with the little parasites that took over people's bodies in Starfleet Command. The big momma parasite transmitted a signal at the end of that ep, but nothing ever came of it later in the series or in any of the movies (something tied to this would have made far more sense for a movie titled "Insurrection" IMO). Bam, there's your mysterious alien force, the kicker being that they're taking over from the inside of the governments and militaries of several different major powers. Could make for some intense conspiracy busting and discreet formation of alliances (between officers of different militaries) whose only common goal is getting control of their respective fleets back.

Actually, this would have been a good way to go about the Earth-Romulan War in ENT. Just so long as you do your best to make sure nobody figures out who the aliens are.

well wan't avoid pre-VOY era as hell lot stuff I got remember (in Post Nemesis era I can avoid that problem by not refering to past events).
