Which Enterprise is Best?

Post by Lord Zentei »

What the question said. In this context I mean "best design" from an aesthetic perspective, not an engineering perspective. Form over function, here; good looks over efficiency and performance.

I see you refuse to recognise the NX01 Enterprise?

I vote E-A

I've always been partial to the original Matt Jefferies design of the E-Nil, but I have to admit E-A looks better. E-E is an awfully pretty ship, too.

B looks good, as do all the Excelsiors. C and D both look like pigs. J looks almost abstract--not ugly, but not very much like a spaceship, either. Future D is just plain horrendous looking, but it's an endearing kind of ugly. NX doesn't have much going for it, I'm afraid. Akira looks much better, and it was based on P-38 too (out of universe--nobody in Starfleet, I hope, is basing ship designs on centuries old propeller driven aircraft).

I can't believe I'm the only one that voted for Ent-J.

Sure its a hubcab with warp nacelles, but you can't deny that a huge saucer section doesn't have a certain appeal.

Sure you can. I do it all the time. The E-J is just the final nail in the coffin proving Trek writers don't have a clue what a descent ship should look like.

I voted Ent-Nil, but had the TMP refit in mind, which essentially makes it the same as the Ent-A.

However, the Ent-A just ain't my Enterprise.

Although the Enterprise A and B both have a nice design to it, I'm going with the E-E because of its sleek curves and streamlined look.

A descent ship should have landing gear.

Ent-nil for me.

Constitution refit, either the Enterprise or Enterprise A in that regard. Both versions have their advantages and disadvantages.

The Enterprise-B Excelsior refit style is also very nice, but its not quite as good as the Enterprise-A.

Enterprise-E and the Sovereign design is nice, real nice. A good looking ship with good capabilities. It looks sleek, fast, and deadly.

I picked Galaxy X. I was going to pick E-D, but Galaxy X looks meaner (and packs a bigger punch to boot).

could somebody add E-E refit into there?

The Nemesis E-E is better looking than the First Contact E-E, despite how horribly bad the movie was.

Modified E-D from 'All Good Things', the series finale.

As for me, Nil-Refit/A. Simply the best looking of the bunch.

The E-E refit is identical to the First Contact E-E for all intents and purposes.

TheEnt E wins, if only slightly ahead of the Ent B. I always liked Excelsiors...

My vote goes to Enterprise-A...one person mentioned the big blue deflector; you beat me to it! Then there's the bridge itself. I specifically like the one from Star Trek VI with the clocks hanging around the walls. Nice touch.

Robert Walper would probably vote for NX-01. Not because I think he's stupid enough to like it, but rather, because he would WANT to be fed to the Borg

Nah, Walper would vote for the lamest ship in the fleet, Voyager. Then he would go masturbate to Janeway.

I'd vote for the Enterpirise - Nill. It has the same heavy-metal feel as the Millenium Falcon. When Scotty fixes something, he doesn't wave a magic wand over a touch-screen whilst muttering about the 'interspatial-compensation-flow-flux-crapassiter- ' Nay! He wrenches off a cover and messes with the insides!

The bridge has switches and dials. The crew sleep in bunks. The Heissenberg compensators work very well.

Okay... I'm drooling now.

As much as I love the E-Nil and the E-A (Classic lovely and majestic lines), I voted for the E-E, the thing looks like it's going high warp at relative rest.

The B was nice, the Excelsior was a good stable design I think, but the Ambassador look like a pregnant pig, and the Galaxy looks to top heavy for my ultimate liking. The J...don't get me started on it...and the NX is to akira like to count as a "modern" Pre-Fed design for me. I prefer the Akira's anyway,.
