Which is worse ?
Ok Voyager and Enterprise are considered the least good of all Trek shows. Which do you think is worse ?
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

I do not recall Ent ever being as consistently bad as Voy.

Once they brought in Seven and made Voyager revolve around the Borg, it all went downhill.
Fucking the Borg should have been done like this. One cube, going around assimilating worlds. Voyager stands by hopelessly as world after world gets assimilated by one Borg cube with the Queen on it. Recurring enemy, and the whole episode doesn't have to be taken up by the Borg, they can show a world being assimilated in the first few minutes and Voyager running away and going on some adventure. Fucking just thinking about the way they displayed the Borg for two seconds should have enlightened the writers. How can you reconcile the Borg sending one ship into the Alpha Quadrant while they have hundreds of ships in the Delta Quadrant. We are left with two justifications, either the efficiency one or the "Borg are retarded" one. Or maybe a few more like "The Borg weren't sufficiently interested in their technology." All justifications leave a sour taste in my mouth, since the Borg shouldn't have been portrayed that way anyway.

It's actually all part of a long-term business plan devised by Paramount Pictures.
Somewhere around the middle of DS9, Paramount got wind of the fact that they had, in fact, systematically violated every orifice of every talented scriptwriter and technical consultant they had. This understandably created friction of another kind. It was not really that Paramount cared about producing a good show that the fans would not be embarrassed to follow. They did, however care about the fans possibly leaving Trek for a show that did not perform various outlawed sexual acts upon small spiny animals.
Somewhere along the line, they hit upon the idea of testing the resolve of the viewers. In one single, bold rectal clenching, Voyager was born, and, unsurprisingly, it was crap. Yet it was but part of the greater plan.
Paramount cared less than nothing about their show. In actuality, they were busily planning a new show. The mission statement was simple, as was the goal. They had fashioned the worst TV show known to man, later only occasionally surpassed in awfulness by a few single episodes of "Charmed". And their resolve was clear. They would show a clear improvement, and thus give people hope in the fact that the show was on the rise again.
The slogan? "Can't be worse than that POS we called Voyager."
Note: The above post may be 100% bullshit.

Enterprise started out decent enough, went straight to shit but is just recently getting better. Voyager throughout it's run was at best a guilty pleasure. It's whole run was shit with very few standout episodes.

He meant Seven and you know it
I did not vote, largely because I've watched very little of both shows, and hate them equally from what I've seen/heard of them. I saw the VOY episode "Night" and that immeditaly turned me off to the whole thing. I mean, come on, the whole crew's having a breakdown and Janeshit decides to isolate herself in her quarters and ponder over the already done decision that plunged them into the DQ. And oh yeah, the Voyager, the ship that occasionally beats up Borg cubes, had to hit a weak point on what was basically a fucking garbage scow to destroy it. Please.
The favoring of the Xindi over the Romulans (my favorite trek race), by the writers of Ent made me lose interest in it very fast. Ent, from what I've seen of it, is more boring than downright revolting like VOY often was. Then again, there are eps like "Dr. Doctor" which set new lows.

At least someone within Paramount got the idea that having a story arc within Enterprise, if just a flimsy one, would be an intersting thing to have.

Did this thread before.
And (with the notable exeption of the doctor) Voyager is FAR worse, Ent basicly does everything better from Special effects to acting to plot continuity. That and Linda Park is cuter than any woman from Voyager.

Voyager was bad but they should have learned their lesson after it. They didn't and Ent is still bad. I vote Enterprise because to quote Travolta in Pulp Fiction, "They shoulda fuckin' better known better."

Voyager was just listless and dull. I can remember seeing so many episodes and just going halfway through, "Why am I watching this? It's not exciting, I don't care about these characters, I don't care what happens next, I don't care how it ends." Enterprise tries and fails, but at least it tries. Failure is interesting, as anyone who's slowed down to look at a car wreck can tell you.

Have you seen any Season Four episodes yet? The Xindi are no longer part of the show - instead we just had an excellent mini-arc set on Vulcan with Romulans involved.Trogdor wrote:The favoring of the Xindi over the Romulans (my favorite trek race), by the writers of Ent made me lose interest in it very fast. ENT Seasons Three and Four (minus the Space Nazis) have been excellent. Voyager is far worse show.
I'd like all ENT bashers (those who don't watch the show at all, yet me-too the board with their comments about how awful it is) watch "The Forge", "Awakening" and "Kir'Shara" before they say anything about Enterprise showing no effort. I wouldn't mind their criticism if it was based on actually watching the series.

[rant]Why do people watch these shows? They are responsible for their continued existence. Bah - no motherfucker would wait for three years for any other show to get better, but because the ST drones always watch it gets a free ride. And there are shows out there that are CONSISTENTLY GOOD![/rant]
I will however say that VOY is worse. Much worse. ENT is still an post-natal abortion, but its not as bad.

Enterprise is vomit, but Voyager is shit. I have never seen such a combination of unlikable characters, shitty stories, bad acting, disregard for established continuity, etc., AND THAT WAS THE NORM. Most Voyager fan whores seem to only like it because it was "dumbed down" when compared to TNG. Don't even get me started on what Voyager did to the Borg (or Q).
The funny thing is this; here we had a ship stranded in a completely unknown and unexplored part of the galaxy, and what do they find? They find everything from the Alpha Quadrant, and EVEN THINGS FROM EARTH (like a floating pick up truck). I can't suspend my disbelief in this case. It's just too far out there.
I liked TNG and DS9. I really tried to like Voyager. I wanted to like it. Only through its own stupidity was I forced to hate it.

Here's a synopsis of a typical Voyager episode from Startrek.com.
"An accidental transporter fusion of Borg nanoprobes and the EMH's 29th-century mobile emitter results in the formation of a powerful Borg lifeform, who names himself "One". If One were to join the Collective, his futuristic technology would make the Borg even more powerful, so in an act of conscience, he causes the destruction of an intercepting Sphere and allows himself to die."
Fusion of nanoprobes and the hologram thingy? Then a super Borg drone pops out? It's like you want to do a double take because it can't possibly be correct... but it is. Voyager's hard on for "photonic" life forms and the Borg really came to head with this one, but it makes no fucking sense whatsoever. This is typical Voyager.

"One" was one of the best episodes Voyager ever aired. Let me say that again, to properly share the pain: Most of the others were worse.

I can remember ONE really good Voyager episode: "Living Witness", which *GASP!* actually used Voyager's premise and characters to tell a story no other Trek series could. One glimpse of what the show could have been, folks. One.Eleas wrote:Wanna know something really bad?Superman wrote: Fusion of nanoprobes and the hologram thingy? Then a super Borg drone pops out? Voyager is far more frustrating than Enterprise. ENT was almost certainly doomed to be a weak series--we're back with the same people doing the same things in the same places, except this time we'll call the rayguns "phase pistols". But Enterprise tries to work with its material, take some chances, do the usual Trek things in an un-Trek way. Voyager, given a chance to do things no Trek series ever did or could, gave us Starfleet officers and aliens of the week, and when they couldn't think of an alien of the week, they recycled one from TOS, TNG, or DS9. The whole Goddamn point of setting the show in the Delta Quadrant was so that the writers would be forced to leave the Klingons et al alone!

That was a good episode.
