Something that scares me

Post by Dark Primus »

Imagine there has been 5-10 years without Star Trek on TV. And Paramount decides its time to bring Star Trek back.
They announce it to the world that ST is back and they are going to make it super duper good. Among the fans there is so much rejoice and they are happy, they have been without a new Trek series for too long.

But something terrible happens. Paramount happily announces, all fans favorite producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga (Yeah right ) are back and they promise to come up with new and exiting ideas and adventures for the new series.  *shudders*

The pain! THE PAIN!

That is what I think will happen in the future. I think they will continue with the old producers instead of getting new ones who can add fresh blood and new fresh ideas.
EAT SHIT AND DIE! - Because I say so

Or, perhaps, they get new producers, who are just as bad B&B. They aren't the only no-talent hacks around, you know.

Have a very nice day.

Are you saying its better the devil you know than the devil you don't? If so, I must disagree with you.

A series approx. 100 years ahead of TNG era, with transwarp and/or quantum slipstream an established, reliable drive tech.

Relations with the Romulan Star Empire has warmed to the point where they are sorta kinda like the Klingons in TNG...thus the Neutral Zone and the prohibition against cloaking tech have been abolished.

Phase Cloaks for Everybody

The commbadge has progressed to the point where it emits a virtual viewscreen allowing the wearer to talk face to face, or view data, etc.
Uses hologram tech with the same logic that allowed R2-D2 to image Leia's sides and rear, even though the droid only had a camera to photograph her front.

The Borg and the Dominion are now only nuicances that are dealt with occaisionally.

The new discovery to launch the show is The Worm...it makes wormholes.
This allows the UFP to explore neighboring galaxies...

Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable, "Farewell to Penn Station", New York Times editorial, 30 October 1963
