Old topic with "new" info: Borg KE shield.

Some time ago it was debated if borg drones had KE shields and the drone One was used as an example. As was said One doesn’t count as he was an advanced drone but in the same episode we saw an ordinary drone with a KE shield.

I have the TOS DVD season 1 last disc, on that their is a trailer for Voyager DVD’s. On time: 01, 42 you clearly see that the normal drone has KE shields.

Hope that clears that.

What is the evidence that this is a KE shield? This sounds alot like a few newbies who have, in fact, invented whole new episodes out of thin air to try and win debates, because there's frankly nothing to explain how it's a KE shield or anything at all, really. Just an assertion.

care to provide screencaps of said KE shield in action? or on screen dialogue verifying they in fact have one? otherwise it's pointless spec. If the borg do have a KE shield then how come the bullets fired by the tommy gun at the borg in first contact in the holodeck affected them just fine?

I dont know how to do that, hopefully someone here have seen that DVD, if not just ignore this thread.

If the borg do have a KE shield then how come the bullets fired by the tommy gun at the borg in first contact in the holodeck affected them just fine?

They may have assimilated it after FC.

Wow. Borg have shields. We've known this since Q Who. What about the scene makes it so clear they're KE shields? That the drones are physically buffetted? That would imply they are not being protected from kinetic effects!

Yes. Someone made up an episode of Enterprise and claimed it included a weapon which dialogue placed in the Teraton range. It was blatant penis envy to try and get back at the Episode II ICS that was released for Star Wars.

Oh, wow. One is your evidence? Okay, so your evidence is that a Borg Drone built with 29th Century technology known to include tacitile forcefields has a KE shield. Given that the other drone is physically fucking flung would suggest to an astute observer that he had no protection against KE.

Why are you starting with the assumption it's a KE shield? That's completely ass backwards. There is no evidence at all it was protected from kinetic or momentum effects. There is, in fact, evidence against it. Why a shield appears is academic; it does not provide the requisite effects you asserted.

C) Therefore, the One's shield is a KE shield
D) Something lights up around the drone when he bounces off
E) This can't be his energy shield interacting with The One's KE shield because ...
F) Therefore, the drone's shield is also a KE shield
