Defiant vs Galaxy

My bet is one the Defiant.

The Defiant has a strong warp core and a very small shield surface area. This translates into strong shields, maybe stronger than Galaxy shields.

The Defiant also has abalative armour.

Defiants quantum torpedoes are stronger than the Galaxy's photon torpedoes.

Since the Defiant is fast and agile so hitting it would be difficult. The Defiant can also try to stay out of the Galaxy's torpedo arcs.

The Galaxy has 12 phaser arrays but all of them cant fire at one target at once. On the other hand the all four the Defiants pulse phasers can hit the target once.

How is the situation different from the last time you asked this?

Dude, the Defiant got it's ass handed to it by a refitted 80+ year old starship. Granted, the Lakota was also badly messed up, but I'm sure that a Galaxy isn't exactly going to have trouble beating it. The Defiant only has those forward firing PPC's and what, a rear firing phaser? The Galaxys, on the otherhand have phasers at all keypoints on the ship. The Defiant's only real advantage would be her speed and manueverability, and even that would be tested to its limits, in a fight like that. I'm not saying that the Galaxy will come out of the fight without a scratch on her hull, but she'll still be in better condition than the Defiant.

Edit: I purposedly didn't mention the torpedo launchers. Aly can cover those.

Neither side used quantum torpedoes because neither side wanted to destroy the other.

The Lakota was holding its torpedoes because the captain didn't want to kill a Federation crew, and when they were ordered to destroy the Defiant with quantums, they refused to fire.

We can likely assume the Defiant also was holding its quantums. So we can't really determine how the fight would go.

Like I (think) I said last time, Defients manuverability is not an advantage if it wants to engage the Galaxy. Most of the Defients weapons are concentrated in the forwards arc, while the Galaxy has a spread loaded weapon config.

If there were two or three Defients, the its manuverablitly would come into play, but for just one ship, nullifies its manuveriblity
