Need some info for a fic I'm writing

Post by Swordsman »

I need:
A timeline starting from WW3 to present time in ST.
Some info on weapon strength of Phasers(of different types) and photon torpedoes.
Is there any form of shield strength scale (ex: TOS Enterprise has 100 Compared to TNG Enterprise has 200 compared to Voyager has 150)?
What type of Phaser is the newest? (type 6 or 20)

Any help? Please?!?

All these are Star Trek Questions and should be presented in that particular forum.

Off it goes.

Ex astris scientia, go there. They've got a good timeline that will help you organise a fanfic. As for the tech questions, I'm sure it has answers for them but I never sought it ought. Mike Wong's canon database as well as the main site is already a good source for tech descriptions and commentary.

Personally, I don't think that this Tom Clancyish attention to technical details matters at all in a story. When I'm reading a fanfic, I don't like if it starts to sound like an excerpt from a tech manual. "Enterprise-D was a Galaxy-class starship. It carried over ten Type X phaser arrays and 250 photon torpedos. Blah, blah, blah."

Having said that, you can use Graham Kennedy's website if you need tech information. Much of it is speculation, however.

Darth Wong's main site-- stardestroyer.net, especially the "I Want YOU for the Galactic Empire" section-- is pretty good if you want firepower estimates, as well as military analyses and suchlike.

Curtis Saxton's Technical Commentaries is very good as well. In fact, just use most of the sites that Wong has links to on his main site-- I'd say they're pretty reliable.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.
