SDN in the Federation.

Inspired by the "SDN transported en masse to the Demolition Man Universe" thread.
Situation is as follows; By random act of Q the entire usership of Stardestroyer.net is transported to within a half mile radius of each other on an uninhabited M class planet in the Federations territory, during the TNG era. We all have name tags with our screen names on them, and Q helpfully informs us that in three hours the renowned Federation starship Enterprise will arrive in orbit for a routine survey of the local life forms, and will naturally investigate the unexplained presence of seventeen hundred humans.
So what do we do?.

arrive, get immediately recruited into Starfleet Academy and rise to positions of power within Starfleet by putting all that spiffy technobabble to good use. Also immediately start working on the Sovereign, Defiant, Intrepid & Prometheus projects.

Many of us will undoubtably be classified as deviants and be forced to undergo "reducation" at some penal colony.
Personally I'm jumping on the next ship that I can find thats going to the Klingon Empire.

So I get to be sent straight back to New Zealand? Gee, thanks Q.

Well you can always jump ship with me and go hang out with the Klingons.

Dunno, my stuff's probably all still here. And with the other SDNers advising everyone on how to fight and win I'm thinking wars will get a hell of a lot nastier. I'll stick to the surfing and backpackers

Chris and I force our way into Starfleet strategic and tactical thinking and try to do some good.

I get into the holodeck and use it to make my own ship.

I picture something out of that cheesy episode where Dr. Bashir talks with those "genetically altered humans" at the asylum type place.
Then again, in real life things aren't usually that interesting, (even if this is a fictional universe) so we'd probably end up on penal colonies or get the "Picard treatment" like the people who were unfrozen in TNG (ie: seen as a nuisance or a curiosity until they realize how "unenlightened" we are).
Assuming everything in this scenario works as we've seen it work on the TV shows & movies, we might be able to take over the ship, but I wonder if we'd be crazy enough to try. We talk about this kind of thing, but would we really do it? Or would be just be happy enough to be still alive to just go along for the ride...?
Apart from a few of us who might be on crazy, the incredible strangeness of the scenario might seem to many of us like a "dream" and so that might make wild actions and behavior more tempting to try.
This would make a nice movie too, because we rarely see how this would work out ("real life" reaction to appearing in fiction that was suddenly real). I mean for example we'd all know about the "fictional" version of the real thing, and we could talk about it.
That might give us leverage, if for example we knew all this unprecedented information about "real life" figures like Picard, Sisko, Janeway, etc that we "couldn't possibly have known" otherwise.
If they did a complete investigation instead of writing us off as crazy, they might assume we were dumped here from "the past" by some weird anomaly and try to "get us back to where we belong." Which, if they could time travel us, would strand us in some alien universe in Trek's past.
That means (since Trek's past is different from our's) that we might see more Trek "history" if we lived long enough.
Q on the other hand might screw things up or 'fix' them. Knowing how capricious he is, I wouldn't trust him to make things "right" in the end though, so that wouldn't necessarily give our behavior carte blanch.
Finally if they don't use us as spies (we know stuff about their enemies too that could prove useful) or tweak us for information about themselves; try to send us "back to our own time"; throw us in some psych-ward; or kill us as we try to take them over; they might try (or we might be tempted to) assimilate into their culture. Since we have "no skills" (by their standards) we'd have to be trained in whatever. Then again, some of us do know things that would be useful to them, the trick would be convincing anyone that it was actually a good idea, rather than just the sputterings of a politically incorrect bunch of savages.

Hell, I'd be willing to try to get into the Starfleet Acadamy, and work my way up.
Unfortunately, as I've explained WarWolves Project 2 (coming soon to a SDnet message board near you) I'm really looking forward to being a junior officer for oover a decade.

Ah, hopes...those are just there to get crushed down by cold hard reality. But good luck anyway.
Personally, with so many young horny males running around, I see Deanna Troi getting very, very sore. And if Riker doesn't like it, well, we'll have Ein make him his sex slave or something.
Of course, this doesn't prevent some wacko we surely have around here from going "Hur hur, Trek weapons suxors!" and to "prove" his/her/its point, fire a phaser rifle into the warp core, causing us all to explode into nice pretty colors.

I get a replicator and a holodeck and spend a life of luxury.

I have actually talked about this with one of my friends. We decided that if it happened we should pretend to be all "enlightened" and crap, go through Starfleet Academy, and work our way up. If we see the chance of great progress in the future (becoming a captain, for instance), then keep working until we get to the high point, at which time we become total bastards. By "total bastards" I mean "not a wimp."
"Captain, the random alien of the week has taken over the bridge."
"Pump out the air. Let's see them hold the bridge while they try to breath vacuum."
"But...that's inhumane!"
"I'll let them surrender if they so desire."
If it doesn't work out, there's gotta be a black market operating somewhere. It'd probably be a whole lot more fun anyway joining up on that, and if there isn't there will be a large available underground economy just waiting for me to show up.

Seeing as most of the HAB is insane enough to try to take over the ship....
Did Q give us any weapons beyond the local sticks and rocks? If so, the security personel on that ship is so dead.
I'd be tempted to do the old 'internal improvement' routine otherwise.

We could probably support ourselves by heading up a SF design team whose job it is to laugh at the obviously shitty designs that have come out the ST universe, and point out errors in UFP designs. However, I would also imagine that since most of us have seen ST, almost all of us could easily defect to one of the other AQ powers and sell them information about the tactical and strategic vulnerabilities of the Federation.

No, afraid not. Just what you can find on the planet when it comes to weapons. Although I suppose you could try to convince Q to give you something.

We'd all come together and fashion weapons made from rocks and sticks. We'd then proceed to kick the everyliving crap out of the Federation "security" detatchment, hijack the starship and declare victory. Afterwards we engage in a fierce struggle over who gets first dibs on the holodeck during which everyone is slaughtered.

First go to the holodeck have some sexual orgies then play some random Shoot them up game on the holodeck and learn starfleet troopers on how to perform in real combat.
I think I will have to give the Feddies God mode so they wont all get moved down in the first 30 seconds.
