Enough with threads and posts like these. We all know what the Federation's deficencies are, and bringing them up again to laugh at them or post a patently obvious fix ("What if the Federation shaped phasers like modern pistols so you could aim down the barrel?") is just me-too spam. Such material is subject to being locked, moved, or deleted at the moderators' pleasure.

Tip for new folks: try going through the archives first to see what's been beaten to death already. We have no problem if someone suggests a novel new solution to a problem or comes up with a potential explanation as to why the TNG era Federation is what it is, but try not to bring up things we've seen before.

An amendment to these rules.

No Galaxy Class bashing. No more "Warp Core sux0rs!" statements. No more stating the ship is made like a roman candle. We know what the various versions of this ship are capable of and we don't need idiotic reminders of problems in TNG.
