Was a position ever given for the colony planet with the Dowud on it that was destroyed by the Husnoc (which was the catalyst for their own extinction)?
If so was it near the Beta Quadrant?

The scriptwriter confused what is in fact a real astronomical identification. There is a star known as Rana —listed in the Bayer catalogue as Delta Eridani, a K0III orange dwarf located 27 lightyears from Earth.
