Klingons in Enterprise?

Post by wautd »

(Inspired from the "NX-01 vs NCC-1701-D" topic)

How are Klingons in Enterprise? Are they more like TOS Klingons or more like TNG Klingons?

I always expected them to be like the TNG Klingons but since i've read there are somewhat competent forces in Enterprise (MACO's) i might have been prejudging?

The Klingons were in Enterprise since the first episode. They are different from TOS Klingons and more like TNG Klingons. IIRC they have TNG style bony forhead and warrior styles society.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Ok those are their looks but i was referring to how they perform in combat. Do they drop their weapons to go bath'let like in TNG or do they prefer the smart way and actually shoot like in TOS?

I think that they shoot or least I haven't seen any klingons using melee weapons in ENT

It makes you wonder. According the TOS and TNG, first contact with the Klingons was supposed to be disasterous. What happened?

They fight like TNG Klingons. They prefer the blade to the gun.

We've never been told. I'd love to see a Trek book detailing it; perhaps another 'Lost Era' series after ENT ends, this time set after Archer, but before Kirk rather than after Kirk but before Picard. I mean it could work since the 2nd Lost Era book, "Serpents Among the Ruins" finally showed what really happened with the Tomed Incident, so it could happen again.

Spoiler: Uh, a farmer shot a Klingon. :D

That can be considered disasterous. If that was first contact.

A farmer of all people shooting a Klingon - heh, no a very worthy foe; if I was with the Klingon Empire, I'd be pissed off too.
