VOY "Endgame" question

Did the upgraded Voyager in "Endgame" used shields during the battle with the Borg, and if yes, how long did they last ? Did the Borg try to beam aboard Voyager ?

Yes, rather they had only the ablative armor - which proved pretty useless once the Queen assimilated future Janeway.NecronLord wrote:They may well have done, but they didn't have futurey shields.
the stupidity overload from assimilating janeway's 'brain' must have proven too much of a shock to the collective.JME2 wrote:Yes, rather they had only the ablative armor - which proved pretty useless once the Queen assimilated future Janeway.NecronLord wrote:They may well have done, but they didn't have futurey shields.
Either that, or the stupidity of the fact that they'd assimilated someone who logically should not exist (as a result of Voyager getting back before it should have) crippled them.Darth_Zod wrote: the stupidity overload from assimilating janeway's 'brain' must have proven too much of a shock to the collective.
I think the virus was supposed to cripple the whole collective. As per the Sphere exploding with Voyager in it.1337n1nj4 wrote:-Just what became of the Borg? So the Unimatrix got slagged, the Queen got slagged, and at least one of the transwarp hubs got slagged. Big deal, the Queen dies everytime she shows up. Are the Borg gone or just crippled?
Voyger used future armour rather than shields against the Borg. The Nomad wrote:Did the upgraded Voyager in "Endgame" used shields during the battle with the Borg, and if yes, how long did they last ? Voyager ?
No.Did the Borg try to beam aboard
Don't forget the torpedoes VGR fired while she was caught inside the sphere!Gandalf wrote: I think the virus was supposed to cripple the whole collective. As per the Sphere exploding with Voyager in it.
Nope. It only needs to boost their immune system enough to give the nanoprobes trouble. Denobulans can hold out for a good deal longer than it would take to assimilate a human for that very reason.evilcat4000 wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356069/
Special genes that make a person immune to assimilation ? This is stupid.
Perhaps the Borg nanoprobes have problem against cells with longer DNA. The Species 8472 DNA was 100 times longer than humans and the Borg could not assimilate it.Matt Huang wrote:Nope. In the sick, dull, unimaginitive mind of Rick Berman - given that he was a writer on the idea - it does make sense.Son of the Suns wrote:evilcat4000 wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356069/

Agreed, unless it means that their bodies produce antibodies designed to counteract nanomachines.
Well, it's possible that the armor uses some new kind of replicator. If it were the TNG-era sort, the armor would have to be made of whatever metal the ship is carrying (obviously nothing they normally have would work). And they'd have to be carrying a shitload of it to cover the hull.Anarchist Bunny wrote:The tech was on even shuttles in the future. If it didn't have some sort of transporter shielding(probably against more advanced transportation) it would be very useful. The metal couldn't have been of anything hard to obtain since the crew was able to fit voyager with a set in a relatively short time frame, maybe theres some sort of energy field around it or through it that doesn't block shots, but prevents transportation.
