Your Favorite Alien makeup

One of the cornerstones of Trek has always been the presence of alien-lifeforms on screen. Bajoran, Klingon, Romulan, Xinid, Borg, Hirogen, Jem'Hadar, Cardassian, Vorta, andorian- all have appealed to the audiences of the last 4 decades. Of all of the alien-life forms that have appeared on Trek, which alien make-up is your favorite?

The Reptilian Xindi are superb, IMO, one of the few good points of Enterprise is the effort that has been put into variation and actually creating 'Alien' looks for races...
I liked the Hirogen too, and for some reason, the Breen, with their helmets... but, I'ma gonna say..
The El Aurians... so unique, just like nothing I ever saw before- totally unhuman and alien like. Oh no, that was just how Whoopi looked, right?

For me, it's a tie between the makeup for the Cardassians and the Xindi-Reptilians. The Cardassians is just so cool in my eyes and more alien than the Romulans or the Klingons. And I love details on the Xindi-Reptiles as well (one of the few good things about ENT for me).

The Gorn. 30 years before Michael Westmore was gluing latex asscracks to actors' foreheads and passing them off as "alien", TOS tried to make genuine aliens.

Effort? They damn near stole them from Galaxy Quest!

Not only that, but the Andorians were alien, there were those midget men with the metallic skin, you had the Wah Chang horta and Excaliban etc.
Compared to the plethora of aliens of the week in the post TNG-era. Damn, now I miss TOS with a vengeance.

My favorite are the Cardassians followed the Breen.

The Vorta look too much humanlike except for their ears.

And the Tholians. Can't forget them.

The fucking Salt Vampire was more alien than the shit peddled in VOY and ENT, and it didn't even move! (erm, IIRC) Bloody hell, the Talosians had big heads, but only communicated through TP (so their mouths didn't move). Balok was a puppet, yet it still fooled the bridge crew.
Ok, I'll stop now.

Well on the subject of Balok, I promise once again that I'm hoping to bring the First Federation into the fray with my Trek/Wars tale; should prove interesting to see the Vong fleet against
Fesarius-class vessels.

The Gorn. In my opinion, it's still one of the best alien designs in all of Star Trek.
Wah Chang didn't design the Horta, IIRC.

I just checked the Encyclopedia and you're right; according to it, a bloke named Janos Prohaska designed, built and wore the Horta costume.

Yes, the Borg makeup counts as well.

My favorite alien make-up is the two tall, fat and almost bald aliens that appear in the end of ST IV. The costumes are so bad, so that they almost made me laugh when I first saw the movie in '88. Nowadays, I only cringe. I would say that they're my favorites, since the director even had the guts to include those.
Other than that, I must say that I really like the (later) Borg costumes, and the classic Vulcan 'make-up'.

Both are rip offs of better sci-fi.

I dont watch Enterprise so not sure about the Xindi, but the Breen mask is a blatant rip off of Princess Leia's bounty hunter costume in ROTJ.
My vote goes to the Cardassians easily.

The Tholians are an interesting race. They remind me of the Mycons from
Star Control 2 .
