What if Kirk faces an Unknown Alien UglyTM in a hand to hand battle, wearing a ripped RED shirt?

The "ripped shirt effect" negates the "redshirt effect" always.

as does Kirk's character shields. any other redshirt that isn't apart of the main cast is basically fucked.

One must remember that the "red shirt effect" only applies to extras. Scotty wore a red shirt for years and even went on "away missions" wearing it without suffering serious harm.

NOMAD once, but it patched him up. Mind you, he did get some serious electro-shock therapy from Apollo
