TNG Xindi Starbase

Post by Embracer Of Darkness »

I was just watching the episode "The Battle", a TNG episode. It's the episode where the Ferengi show up and give Picard the derelict Stargazer, but have left a brain device on it...

Anyway, they were talking about towing it, and I clearly heard them say they were going to tow it back to the "xindi starbase". If anyone has a script or the episode handy, it could be helpful, as I might've misheard.

I know that this is more than likely a total coincidence, but could it be used as an in-universe answer to support what ENT has told us about the Xindi joining the Federation later on?

I belive there is a race in Trek that sounds like Xindi but isn't them. Here is the TNG script archive so you can find out.

Xendi, and it may be a system, not a race. Oh, well. So much for that stab at continuity.

Wasn't really a stab, just a quick thought that there might've accidentally been a connection which could be explained with an in-universe answer.

Xendi, Xindi, doesn't sound that different, no need to get hung up on a single letter, they might have had the brains to include this.

True enough. It would be great if they were the same, and someone just misspelled Xindi, but somehow I doubt it. It's probably like the dozens of T-whatever races they have, and is just a coincidence.

More likely it's the Tallerian (sp) syndrome. IIRC they've have the Tallerians, the Talerians, and the Tellarians. Like what Psycho was talking about.

Yeah, I really hated it when I found out about that. There was even a Star Trek T-name generator somewhere. :)

Maybe we'll get an episode where it turns out the Xindi have been Federation members since the 24th century, who knows, unlikely though.
