Valeris was, as we know, Spock's student, his hope for the future who betrayed him and Starfleet during the Khitomer Accords. Does anyone know what happened to her following the unraveling of the conspiracy (other than a trial/imprisonment)?

Why can't we assume, and quite rightly so, that she was charged with treason and shot - or, imprisoned?

Because with the exception of Talos IV, there is no death penalty in the Federation. most likely imprisoned and/or exiled from Vulcan.

Point about the death penalty, so that means the most likely and plausible explanation was she was imprisoned. I mean treason is a serious offence, I doubt they would just exile her.

Ah, but Spock is the son of one of Vulcan's most famous ambassadors/citizens who as of STVI was still kicking. They might have had some pull with the Vulcan government...

Then perhaps she was imprisoned on Vulcan, which should be the case anyway. But exile out of the Federation? For a capital crime like treason (yeah yeah I know there's no capital punishment - treason is still pretty serious)?

Depending on how young she was by the time of STIV even after imprisonment Valeris could have many years of life left to do whatever. I don't think the Feddies would imprison her for 200+ years even for treason.

I said she might have been exiled from Vulcan - no the Federation.

Well, her crimes were against the Klingon Empire as well as against the Federation, so perhaps, in order to get around the "no death penalty" bit, she could be tried according to Klingon law.

SPECULATION: Valeris was sentenced to rehabilitation in a Vulcan facility, where she would be subject to extensive behavior modification therapy using both conditioning methods and telepathy. I submit that the Vulcans would consider this a very "humane" and logical way to treat a criminal. After a period of years, she was would probably be released but not given permission to travel off Vulcan. By TNG, she would probably have a mid-level public service assignment somewhere on Vulcan.

By Vulcan POV such a thing will be against logic

but as far as I remember Spock is half human and emotions will not be such an imposible part of him (although I've only seen a couple of ST movies of the Kirk era and I might be wrong

Half-Vulcan or not, you saw how furious Spock was with Valeris' actions. I meant he might implore the Vulcan government to punish Valeris in accordance with Vulcan law, but with larger a punishment, say, exile from the planet or something.
