Your own personal trek ship
I'd like a galaxy class starship, complete with holodecks, ten forward, etc, with a quantum slipstream drive (one that actually works correctly)

Prometheus class starship w/ added Defiant-style PPC's on extendable rotary turrets, ablative armor generators & transphasic torpedos. Add on a latest-generation Romulan cloaking device (the ones in Nemisis) & replace warp with quantum slipstream. Also, replace the warp cores with stabilized Omega particle cores.Shrykull wrote:I'd like a galaxy class starship, complete with holodecks, ten forward, etc, with a quantum slipstream drive (one that actually works correctly)

Well since you can change the ship to what you desire, this is just a case of adding what ideas you like.
Personaly I would go for a Defiant class ship with Quantum Slipstream as fast as the failed flight Voyager made. You can cross the Galaxy in a day with that. Anyway I would keep the shuttlebay, but I would yank a few staterooms and put in a decent sized holodeck.
Now, many people will say with a ship so small my options are limited. Not so. With a holodeck you can do MORE then what your ship is capable of by exploring and doing other things.
Anyway with this ship I can land it where I please, explore the Galaxy, and invite friends to have fun.

Kinda pointless. The thread isn't about an ideal Trek ship, its about owning one for real. All those weapons would be irrelevent because you wouldn't face a real enemy in this Galaxy.Matt Huang wrote:Prometheus class starship w/ added Defiant-style PPC's on extendable rotary turrets, ablative armor generators & transphasic torpedos. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Actually if you go by the time they were actually using the drive as it's real speed, then it's millions of light years an hour.Alyeska wrote:Well since you can change the ship to what you desire, this is just a case of adding what ideas you like.

Re: Your own personal trek ship
If I were to have a ST ship for real, I'd want that level of armament and shieldingas a bare minimum. Overall, Federation starships are very capable, but if I'm going to be cruising in this thing across the galaxy, I want it to be able handel possibly anything.Alyeska wrote:Kinda pointless. Ok, can it be any ST species ship? Well then I would pick a Galor class cruiser. With weapons equal to that of a borg ship and torpedos equal to that of quantum torps. The ship would have holodecks, replicators, and anything a Federation ship would have which would be upgraded.
Or I would like a Romulan Warbird with everything it already, upgraded twice and with holodecks.
For the FEds, I would like a Galaxy class and tak away all the weapons and upgrade the shields so I can have it as a luxury yacht.

The Galor is nowhere equal to a Borg ship. It is as powerful as a Federation Intrepid and bigger in size. The Galor has very powerful phasers but it's torpedoes are regular photons not Quantums.Ok, can it be any ST species ship? Well then I would pick a Galor class cruiser. The Galor is a true warship so it is unlikely to have the luxury of a Federation starship.
You are probobly confusing the Galor with the Cardassian Dreadnaught which is armed with Quantum torpdeoes.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Thats good choice. The Warbird is a very powerful battleship with three times the firepower of a Federation Galaxy class and equivalant shielding and better armour.Or I would like a Romulan Warbird with everything it already, upgraded twice and with holodecks.

I was just upgrading the ship tremendously, but the warbird would be one of my first choices.evilcat4000 wrote:The Galor is nowhere equal to a Borg ship. Steamrunner. Big enough to get away from the other people onboard if I wanted, small enough that I could be picky about my crew, reasonably fast, reasonably well-armed, and cute in a pug-nosed-bulldog-ugly sort of way.
I'd upgrade it with ablative armor, regenerative shields, and q-torps as well as the heaviest phaser arrays I could cram in, however. Pulse phaser turret mounts are also a possibility, if available; frankly, however, I assume there's a good reason the Federation hasn't started mounting these on ships, rather than "We think mounting obvious, turreted weapons on our starships would make them look too warlike."

New Orleans class, or maybe an Excelsior, slipstream handy, but not really vital, just give me the old war-galaxy style upgrades, a few rounds of quantum torpedoes, and a slave circuit and a map...

Something that looks like a Sovereign, but has the following upgrades. If I could have a squad of ships, I'd keep certain upgrades on my ship alone
- Admiral Janeway's armor and torpedoes (thousands of these and thousands of photons)
- as much neutronium in the hull as possible
- Shinzon's cloaking device and Pressman's phase cloak
- Barclay's transwarp drive along with conventional warp, but hopefully with a better looking effect when it's used
- a squad of Argos (fully armored), Delta Flyers, fighter shuttles, and Fed scoutships as bombers (all with Janeway's armor)
- trajectors instead of transporters (no philosophical problems)
- I'd integrate the Tox Utaat into my ship's weapons so I could blow up stars (my ship only)
- Omega bombs as a last-ditch weapon (my ship only)
- a Reliant-style roll bar between the engines, with extra torpedo tubes/turrets, and some ridiculously powerful PPC turrets. This would be high enough to clear the saucer, obviously.
- add tubes on either side of the secondary hull, firing giant quantum/transphasic warheads
- I'd design the nav deflector to double as a supergun at a moment's notice. Think Death Star. (my ship only)
- two extra nacelles for speed and looks. One under each of the original nacelles, upside down. And I'd thicken the nacelle pylons and tilt each set of nacelles inward 30 degrees.
- I'd add seatbelts on the bridge, remove all bottomless pits and precarious catwalks, and outfit the ship with a security system that can gas intruders, hunt them down with emergency tactical holograms (armor and forcefields around the emitters), or beam them into space.
- I'd move the bridge deeper inside the ship, so surface damage couldn't kill me.
- I'd add a real pilot/gunner setup to my chair on the bridge - joystick, throttle, and I'd set it up so I could assign certain weapons to my direct control or delegate them to other gunners on the fly
- multiple transwarp cores, preferably Romulan-style singularities that can't explode
- temporal shields and a Chronaton option on all of my weapons so I don't have to worry about Annorax
- time travel engines like the Aeon (my ship only, but I would be able to take the whole squad at once)
- Jem'Hadar soldiers who aren't addicted to Ketracel White and are being paid handsomely for their work so I don't have to worry about an uprising
- I'd want the sickbay to turn me into a Founder so I can morph into 50 people and have an orgy with myself
- the cascading biogenic pulse from "Nemesis" if I don't want to destroy the target but capture it (my ship only)
- each ship would transmit its location and course to the others when cloaked. The signal would be encrypted and sent through a band of subspace nobody else could receive, and be tied to the cloak. If a ship's proximity transmitter failed, its cloak would fail too.
If I could have a squad of ships escort me, I'd want five Prometheus class ships, two Dominion dreadnaughts refitted as fighter carriers and siege platforms, and ten Defiants. All would have the same tech upgrades as my ship (with the noted exceptions) and be captained by close friends and family.

Vejur with a cloaking device would be in order methinks and a nonsentient AI. Fully refitted inside with all sorts of luxuries, of course. And a few million copies of a random soldier copied in the same way as Lt Ilea, using advanced weapons (railguns utilising the bizzaro CoM defying tractor tech that Wes Crusher had in the first TNG season for boarding other vessels, some more sane weapon for use aboard my ship), for marines.
