You are a commander of a space ship, and all of the command crews of the ships shown in all of the star trek series, now the catch is that you can only make single person picks, and other ships are participating in this too, sort of like a sports drafts. Who do you pick first, and why? (and you can't pick captains)


I would pick scotty, because because he's scotty damnit!

Weyoun because he is just so damn cool. I'd love to sit and talk to Weyoun...

I pick Scotty for engineering. If Scotty is in the engine room, the ship'll get home - no doubt about it.

Well, if you can't pick captains, then all the TOS crew are out, practically. Kirk, Spock (captain as of TWOK) Sulu (Captain as of TUC) Scotty (Captain, retired, "Relics" poss. GEN)...

So I guess if I could pick anybody we didn't see at Captain's rank... Kevin Riley, from "The Naked Time".

But if we can pick characters who weren't Captains in their original series... I'd pick Sulu. Steady, reliable guy, all corridor-fencing shenannigans aside.

Chekov. Totally Chekov, How many thousands of hours of laughter would be had at the slightest mention of Wessels?

It was, in fact. I don't remember the episode well, but I can't recall Gary Mitchell doing anything spectacular. The episode referred to him as a "god," but his abilities were quite limited. The startrek.com episode guide lists that he was distracted while killing a woman, thus allowing Kirk to kill him by dropping the rock. I remember Kirk dropping the rock utilizing a phaser rifle.

i'd likely pick bashir for the doc. either him or the EMH, as they're easily the most two talented doctors in the series. mccoy ties for skill, but loses due to his crankiness. the EMH is sometimes cranky but he knows a helluv alot more.
