Berman vs. Braga

Post by Drooling Iguana »

You've just been contacted by paramount and told that they've decided to fire either Rick Berman or Brannon Braga, and they want you to decide which one gets the axe. Who do you chose?

Can we say both? :P Actually, I don't keep track of who writes what. I just watch. Never even heard of these two before coming here, but I've seen some of the episodes that they've written named here, and most of them I remember as the worst ones. Hmm. Which one... *Holds off voting until research can be done.*

I'd fire Braga. There were some passable TNG episodes under Berman.

Does it really matter? One or the other, half the Dynamic Duo will be culled, which leaves just the other half to worry about. I chose Berman because he's been the Executive Producer, I believe, for too long. I can't remember Berman writing any episodes for Trek? What did he write?

Braga. Berman was onboard Trek way before it went to shit. Braga merely corrupted Berman, removing Braga may allow Berman to return to normalcy

Always two there are. A master, and an apprentice.

But which one is the master, and which is the apprentice?

I always looked at it as though Berman was the one who corrupted those around him. It could be I'm underestimating Braga and his Dark Lord Powers though... :P

Simple, kill Berman the host and Braga the parasite will die soon afterwards.

Braga shoots off his mouth more about everything so I'd rather get rid of him. It's possible that Berman is a bigger problem than I think but I'd be willing to keep him around a little while after the departure of Braga to see if he can adapt to not being part of the problem.

Berman is a producer. Left to his own devices, he'll let the creative people decide where the show is going. He was the executive producer of Cheers, for Chrissakes, so it's not like he hasn't made good TV before.

Braga was a halfway decent writer when there was someone above him to tell him "no". Now that he's executive producer, there's nobody except Berman to stop him, and Berman seems to defer to his judgement on creative matters. I know it's Braga with the hardon for time travel, which is where we got this temporal cold war nonsense. So Braga needs to get the axe and Berman needs to get back to pushing paper around and signing checks.

Amen to that! Braga goes down!!!

Stick one in a helicopter, jump in a Harrier jump jet, stick one to a missile and re-create one of the last scenes from "True Lies"
