I was watching close encounter of the third kind and i saw the first contact scene and thought, They shoulda done this in Star trek: First contact.

The scene in there should have been of the Vulcan ship landing in the middle of the UN plaza, and in this scene there are bunch of building being rebuilt representing the rebuilding of the earth. All the dignitaries and ambassadors standing around the ship as it landed, and there being a band playing a tune to welcome them. The presidents of all the nations greet the vulcans and this is all watched on the Enterprise-E by all the crew as they fly into the vortex.

Except that First Contact is post-World War III, remember? New York City was likely leveled and irradiated. Why do you think Cochrane and the rest were all out in the boonies?

The Vulcan scene in First Contact was well done. There is no need to change it.

They didn't know the Vulcan ship was coming. Hell, they didn't even know Vulcans existed! The scenes fine the way it is, changing it to that would be idiotic, as NYC would be nothing but rubble.
