Smartest move I've seen in Trek

Post by Gandalf »

As I type, I'm watching What You Leave Behind, and I've just seen one of the smartest moves I've ever seen in Star Trek. Damar, Kira and Garak have just been captured. The Founder then orders their immediate execution, no facny "bring them to me" stuff, no elaborate executions. Just that. I thought it was clever.

Anyone?

I wouldn't call it that smart, considering that they lived. :)

Though it obviously didn't work out, I agree with you Gandalf. Tis much better than the usual;

"Now that I have captured you, I will revel my diabolical plot to enslave the galaxy in alarming detail. Since you cannot possibly escape, I'll revel the only possible flaw that could be exploited if you had the time, though you obviously don't. Muhhahahahahah."
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
