Names of Cardassian ships

Post by Darth Wong »

What is a typical name for a Cardassian ship? Does anyone know of any examples of Cardassian ship names?

You sure it was Koranak? I thought it was Koraness (assuming we're both talking about that Keldon in TDIC we see bitchslaped by the Jem'Hadar attack ships....). Though my copy of TDIC has a rather distorted audio stream.

I can't really take the Hideki-class very seriously as of recent, since Hideki is the name of the lead male character from Chobits... :)

He probabely needs them for a new chapter in his fanfic.

According to EAS, a physicist, actually.

But obviously Hideki is that one's surname. The Chobits Hideki's full name is Hideki Motosuwa.

According to the Star Trek Encyclopaedia, the Hideki class may have been named for Yukawa Hideki, the Japanese physisist who first postulated the existance of the subatomic pion in 1935, though it is unclear why the Cardassians would wish to name a Starship class in honor of a human.

Most likely, some Starfleet Intelligence Officer named Hideki was the first to postulate the existance of the class, and the internal reference codename simply stuck, even after the true Cardassian class name has discovered.
