TNG Episode 'Parallels'

In the episode, what would have happened to the timelines we saw with respect to what we have seen in Trek thus far? I'm toying with writing a fanfic based around the Borg ruled timeline, but I cant figure out what would have happened to the timeline where the Enterprise was destroyed (writers perogative, I know). Would the timeline continue as if the Enterprise has mysteriously disappeared as the Enterprise C did?

One of the better TNG episodes. As to writing a fic about that timeline, I think a crazed bearded Riker saying that the Borg were everywhere kind of limits your story since that implies that the Federation is all but gone.

I dunno, I was debating a run up to that point, more like a prehistory fic, where you know what the end outcome is, but you see where it ends up... not sure, just a thought running around. And you could always chart the last days of one of the other ships left behind.

That actually sounds promising. You can sort of start off at the point in BoBW where the timeline diverges and tell your story from there since I find it hard to believe that the Borg could assimlate the entire Federation quickly, it can certainly be a dark and gritty tale that ends with the D being pulled into that time vortex. I like the idea alot, try to develop it more.

Meh, I'll play with the idea, trouble is, it's been a long time since I've seen TNG, and my characterisation is not the best in the world. We'll see, I'll think on it.

Didn't Worf's reversal of the temporal rift undo everything that had happened? That was my belief given that no one else on "our" Enterprise remembered the incident (and they were one of the ships drawn in as they would have been the Enterprise with the proper quantum signature). In that case the Ent-D would still exist in that timeline with no memory of events.
Of course, it's possible that they'll get help. If Worf was insulated from the reversal of the incident (given that he did remember what happened), then the shuttle probably was too, which means it may well have recordings of the relevant communications (Worf may well have been listening in to monitor the situation, since he was being shot at). If a good samaritan gets a hold of this info, they might try to render some form of assistance.

It may have diverged earlier than that. Maybe the Borg were able to sweep through the Federation because they were already more powerful in that timeline than the Borg we know. Perhaps they actually hit the Feds with more than one cube at a time, for example.
