Witch Hunter Robin: Arrival

Post by Joe »

I picked this up yesterday (Best Buy has it for a reasonable $23). It's a quality release. The DVD has some interesting special features, and some of the most visually appealing menus I've seen in any anime release.

The dubbing is also of high-quality, with talented actors like Wendee Lee, Crispin Freeman, and Kari Wahlgren providing some of the voices. Overall, I'm enjoying the series this time around much more than I did on fansub, and I'm really looking forward to upcoming releases. Highly recommended!

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I really want to hear Crispin Freeman as Alucard, I've only ever heard him as Joker in Read Or Die (and my brother pointed that out to me!).

It is quite excellent dubbing, although some lines (especially from Robin) seem rather forced. Crispen Freedman sounds very right for the character, which is a good thing.

I should really check it out, as it sounds and looks really interesting (but I should maybe hurry to get the series box: curse my slow income of money).

I read in the October Newtype USA that the character designer was told by the creators to avoid designing Robin so that she was automatically cute or beautiful (or something like that). She still looks very cute, in my opinion. :)

She's cute in a somewhat annoying, unatractive way. She can be too nice, and is prone to be naive.
Overall, it is an excellent show, with the main cast being rather fleshed out people, and the villians being good 1 episoders (mostly). It doesn't create villians you don't wanna see defeated or have a main character that you want them to kill off.

Maybe I should get it. The only time I've seen it was with a cheap Hong Kong ripoff my friend showed, and the translation ranged from poor to atrocious.

They may have claymores and Dragons, but we have Bolos and Ogres.

Must... get...

I think I'll try and pick it up the next time I go to Best Buy... Then I'll justh have to find the time to watch it -_-

I watched the fansubs before they were licensed... Definitely a good investment.
