Best ground fight in Trek?(Don't laugh)

Post by FaxModem1 »

What was the best hand to hand fight in trek, there is the duel between the shapeshifter and Kirk in ST VI, Picard and Data fighting the Borg Queen, Worf fighting Gowron, etc. what is your favorite?

I've always liked the fight between Kirk and Spock in "This Side of Paradise."

I don't remember the episode name but the one where Riker kicked the ass of the second officer (or whoever) on the bridge of the Klingon ship when he was there for the "officer exchange" was enjoyable.

I liked the one with the Kirk-on-Gorn action. :)

That was just on tonight on SkyOne, I loved watching that Klingon go through that wall panel in a nice little fireworks display.

Ooh, that one was nice. I would say Trouble With Tribbles is my favorite. Don't know about the best one for me though, will have to think about this.

I really liked "Arena" since it was an unusual and tense beginning to a great episode. Argue whatever you want about budget constraints but the fact that we didn't even see the Gorn until halfway through the episode created a lot of tension for the mortar battle on Cestus III.

Even though it was a highly unrealistic depiction of ground combat, I thought that both the Siege of AR-558 and the Klingon assault on DS9 were very cool.

Klingon's invading DS9, just for the stupidity of the tactics.

Whose Tactics were stupid? The Klingons or the Feds?
Voyager summed up in 1 quote:

This isn't an "either-or" question.

That being said, I thought that fight was pretty bad-ass.

Klingons. If you're going to board a station, where the enemy uses ranged weapons, don't rely on swords. It was cool though :)

I kinda liked the episode where Worf is captured by the Jem'Hadar and forced to fight a Jem'Hadar in a weird WWF ring every day.

Anything from TOS where they got to play the cheesy Star Trek gladiatorial music.

Anyone have a wav of that music.
That is the sound of inevitability.

The Voyager episode where those aliens take Seven to fight in some matches against other captured aliens, it had some martial arts in it and some fighting against big burly wrestlers with bumps on thier foreheads. I think the episode was called "Tsunkatse" or something like that.

But my favorite is AR-558.

I liked the Kirk-fu against the tae-Khan-do. Especially the double fisted roundhouse punch. :D
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
