Ensign Ro in DS9 ?

I liked the character of ensign Ro a lot in TNG. Michelle Forbes was an execellent actress. Maybe B & B should have given her a role in DS9. Her character was not used to it's full potential in TNG so I think she deserved a chance. So what do you think ?
I think that she could have replaced Kira as the resident Bajoran character. Or maybe both them could have gone along so we would have two Bajorans on the show.

They were going to transfer her to DS9 but the actor dicided to go into movies.

IIRC she was replaced on DS9 by Major Kira.

I wonder if she ever met Chakotay, Seska or any of the Voyger maquis.

I doubt it, Ensign Ro left Starfleet in late 2370, Voyager opens in early 2371. (I've noticed seasons of Trek seem to end and start with the calendar year).

Ro was supposed to be the resident Bajoran on DS9. But the actress wanted too much money, so they replaced her with Kira.

Untill Sisko's mate defected to the Maquis, Lieutenant Ro Laren was the highest ranked Star Fleet Officer to join the Maquis. She is nentioned in a few TNG and DS9 books but thats as much as i knew about her. She is responcible for ploting to steal a the Enterprise in Rogue Saucer.

"Steal the Enterprise"?!?

Given her knowledge of the ship, its not an entirely implausible thing. The bad part is the fact that Ro would consider such a betrayl of Picard. She treated him almost like a father and she was very sad to betray him in the first place. Trying to steal the Enterprise is just a little to far out there for her character.

I suppose I'll have to check out the local libraries for that book... I want to know how the author would go about doing that.

If the Ferengi can do it, I guess they can.
On another note, do you think she would ever have met Tom Riker, that would have been interetsing.

Ughh... I really would have preferred to forget that episode. What a godawful abortion of writing.
OTOH, I doubt the Maquis would have access to that level of firepower... IIRC, they only had fighters and very small ships.

They were deemed a signifigant threat the Cardassians, and Ro knew of that silly shield hole in the Enterprise. It could be done if they really knew what they were doing.
They also disabled the Malinche, the second ship sent to chase Michael Eddington, I can't remember the exact details, but he didn't have the advantage he had with the Defiant.

Did not Ro had a crush on the real Riker ? I think she would fall in love with Tom Riker.

Basically, that was the idea behind it. I think they'd make a good couple.

Riker and Ro would have made better couple than Troi and Riker. In "Condrum" Riker actualy loved Ro for sometime.

That's what actually inspired my insight.

FYI the bridge crew detected her attempt at passing through the shields and allowed her in. So your example is meaningless.

To defend the Maquis their plan was very clever and subtle. The Enterprise, or rather it's Engineering Hull, was to be used to test new Inertial Compensators to try and improve survivability on plantfall. The Maquis attack and gain control of the prototype saucer with the plan to connect with the Engineering hull and establish computer control, giving them a full GSC under Maquis control.

Yeah, but in the TNG episodes where UFP and Cardassian starships are engaged in combat, the Cardassians got the shit kicked out of them. I think there is (or at least was) a tech gap between the Feds and Cardassians.
Also, wasn't the Malinche an
Excelsior starship?

I never said they didn't, look at TNG: The Wounded. Captain Maxwell executed ownage.

Yes it was, but they seemed to have enough kick in them to still be in widespread use by the Dominon War. Picard also refers to the Melbourne, an Excelsior class ship as being "As good ship." What that means exactly is unsure though, but I felt it was worth mentioning.
