Will The Next Trek Series...

by Raoul Duke, Jr.
...be set in 1965 California? Will it feature Matt Frewer as a young Eugene Roddenberry, and Julie Strain as Majel Barrett?
Will we see Jason Alexander as the dashing yet cunningly wimpy James T. Kirk alongside Sandra Bernhard as the emotionless yet crafty and brutal Mr. Spock? We will almost certainly thrill to the ministrations of Walter Matthau as Dr. Leonard "Boney" McHugh, as our intrepid Starship Voyager hurtles along Borg-infested space under the firm hand and watchful eye of Helmsman Geordi Mayflower! Meanwhile, down in engineering, the trusty Romulan Chief Engineer Glickmurklemack, or "Murky" to his friends, keeps it all together!
On the next episode of "Space Hike": one of the two people watching asks, "What the fuck?!" Presented by Doritos!

No, just ranting. If I were drunk, I'd be apathetic.

A little cynical about the current state of Star Trek are we? Not that I blame you of course. I watched Enterprise for two seasons HOPING to see some improvement, until I finally abandoned it in disgust until the B&B twins are cast down and someone with a respect for Trek is put in.

Cynical? If anything I think he's being too optomistic. Never has Trek been in more dire straits. B&B have alienated so many of the fans with bad writing and stunt episodes that there's a bare handful of loyal fans left interested.

Sandra Bernhard as Spock?? Wouldn't it then be Mrs. Spock?

Have you ever seen a picture of Sandra Bernhard?

Walter Matthau would have kicked so much ass as a crotchety old Starfleet doctor (though not McCoy)... sadly, he's with Bones, as it were.

An androgynous-looking woman is still a woman.

Technically, you're right. Aesthetically, I say Bernhard could pull it off. She could probably also execute a fair impersonation of Mick Jagger.

So could a month-old corpse.

Or an unusually large carp.
