We had so much research about Federation technology yet there are no solid numbers for a Galaxy class starships capabilities. So what is the shield stregth, fireppower and other tactical attributes of a prewar GCS ?
I am planning to write a star trek game so solid numbers would be nice.

I am talking about stuff like total number torpedo launchers, number of shields and stuff like that. The site contains technical information but not things like number of torpedo launchers a GCS has or strengths of individual dorsal, starboard shields etc. I am looking for the type of information found at ditl.org. Unfortunately DITL is known to be inaccurate in some places so I am turning to you guys.

12 Phaser arrays (11 when saucer is attached)
3 photon torpedo launchers (2 when saucer is attached, the third is rear mounted on the saucer section)

As for that other information read the site.......but no rock solid numbers have ever been given from the show, that's what happens when nobody follows continuity.

Also, DITL information is color coded IIRC all the canon information is accurate.

Eh, you do mean 11 phaser arrays when the saucer is attached, right? Because thats how many the GCS has.

As to the GCSs systems. If the DS9 TM is to be taken into account the Galaxy class has most likely gone through some changes. Saucer seperation no longer seems to be a system used commonly. The DS9 TM states Galaxy class ships have 2 torpedo launchers and 11 phaser arrays. It seems that they removed the systems that were hidden by the saucer seperation system.

I did state in my post that the GCS has 11 when the saucer is attached.

Bah, I misread your post, sorry.

DITL is generally highly accurate on such mundane topics as number of weapons arrays. In fact, I take DITL as generally accurate in everything but fleet numbers, weapons power, and shield strength (all derived values). All of GK's base values are pretty much dead on, in my experience.

GCS can burst-fire 6 torpedos in a <2 second volley from the fore launcher. ("The Survivors") 8 torpedos from the aft launcher in a longer volley. ("Encounter at Farpoint")

A lot of information on weapons. Thanks for that. Now what do we know about the shields ? How many torpedeos or how much phaser fire can they take before failing ? Also games like Bridgecommander and StarFleet Command series has multiple shields for Trek ships. Do the shields realy work that way ?

Given dialogue along the lines of "Divert power to forward shields" and "Forward shields 80%, aft shields 40%", I would say they do to some degree.
