Star Trek - Jules Verne style!

BTW - I found it funny that the Klingons in this version are supposed to resemble Germans, not Russians.

Dilythium coal? And the Victoria head in that symbol is....quite cool. (And she lives on and lives on and lives on :shock: )

As much as I groused about the level of technology in League, I really do like the sheer fun factor of the Victorian-centric worlds built in the Steampunk fashion. Now I'm really feeling the urge to get my hands on some Jules Verne.

How terribly fascinating.....

I wonder how they get the "AE" in aether to connect like that?

Interesting...
That really shrinks the Star Trek world down.

A steam powered Enterprise might be much more stable then the E-D.

Scandinavian keyboards have buttons for æ, ø and å. (letters used in Scandinavia... and apparently nowhere else)

BTW - this Steam-Trek got me another idea... what about a Swords-And-Sorcery version of Star Trek??

Vulcans=Elves
?=Dwarves
?=Halflinhs

Drow=Romulans
Uruk Hai= Klingons((only with more tacticl sense))
Reptiliads=Gorn

Well, as for the Dwarves, the Jardra species from my story "The Wormhole War" (linked to in my sig) bears some resemblance to D&D dwarves, but with a more predatory, "orcy" visage. Maybe we could borrow them for Swords-And-Sorcery Trek?

(However, in order to do this we would have to remove a very interesting facet of their background which - if I revealed it - would be a spoiler for "The Wormhole War")

Gotta love the origin story of the Ferengi.

One famous bit on the TOS blooper reels depicted somebody shoveling coal into the Enterprise's engines with the dubbed SFX of a steam-driver puffing and chugging away as the ship sails into the distance. Now comes this bunch who sort of made it "true".

Very imaginative and charming. I can almost visualise the Cavorite plates on the landing craft. Æthermarines in combat with Martian walkers.

The irony is that Steam Trek's technology is more plausible than TNG's.

'Twill be interesting to see how their series of penny-dreadfuls turn out.

You mean something like Spelljammer :D ?

BTW, does anyone recognize the game format they're using for their characters? I'm pretty sure it's using a deck of playing cards, but it's not an RPG system I'm familiar with.

Heh. Captain James T. Kirch of the Enterprise, his crew is noted for unusual solutions. Captain Jean-Luc Pichard of the Constitution. :)

Isn't there a better name for that specific genre other than "steam punk"? That just sounds really dumb to me.

I always called it "Victorian tech", personally...

Why wouldn't the Ferengi work? They're short enough.
