Some info on Captain Sam Beckett's new grunts
here.
I've seem some of Culp's work on JAG, and although i am not a big fan of the show (JAG or Enterprise), i think he may be an interesting character. Hmmmm then again Enterprise and character development... Isn't there some sort of rule that those things don't mix?

And what, precisely, is "Military Assault Command Operations" supposed to mean?

I hope they don't decide to make him the first officer of the Ent.-E in Star Trek 11 also.

Would you prefer Tactical Assault Command Operations? Maybe with
FIRE sauce?

A pair of redundancies strung together to form an acronym alluding to a deep-sea predator. Other than that, it's fucking gibberish.
It occurs to me that a more fitting designation would've been "Hazard Team", although whereas that would fit non-official continuity in support of the game "Elite Force" (and, by the way, be a much more logical designation for these teams) it would violate continuity in that we've never seen a Hazard Team on a Starfleet vessel before (or should I say "since".)
Of course, the same goes for Denobulans. Here's hoping they fix continuity in that regard by having the Klingons annihilate the fucking space chomos.

How about "Tactical Assault Reconnaissance Defense Squad", or TARDS. Fitting.
