If I lost my HDD now, I'm pretty sure I'd fall into clinical depression (that's how much stuff I have stored, organized, and categorized in my drive).

I always have my important shit backed up on CDs. I lost my HD about a year ago and it was not fun

Data recovery is expensive. Depends on what went wrong. There is ActionFront in addition to drivesavers.

*Looks at shirt sleeve*, the number to DriveSavers is 1-800-440-1904, I dunno if you are in the US though.

Anyway, let this be a lesson to you. If its important, or worth money, you will have a backup plan. ALWAYS! /end_IT_soapbox

If it makes you feel any better, on every model I've ever lost, I redid it in half the time, with a lower polycount, and it looked better.

Walmart sells relatively cheap CDRW drives for $99 a pop. That's what I have :)
