In Trek 3, I refer to the scene where McCoy tries to buy a ride to the
Genesis Planet. The alien refuses saying that Genesis was restricted,
and he would not go there.

I don't know how it was that the alien even knew about the Genesis
Planet. After all, info about it was hardly public. Kirk had to undergo
a retenal scan just to see a summary about it in TWOK.
Any ideas on how the alien could have found out about the Genesis
Planet?

Perhaps underworld or black market circles.

IIRC he said that that sector (system?) was restricted, not that Genesis itself was.

What I've always wondered is how the Genesis Device constructed a planet out of a nebula. Dr. Marcus specifically said it could be used on a moon, or other dead form.

I thought the Genesis world was that barren planetoid.

Obviouslly they made the exsistence of the new world immediatally public. Of course this does not say much for Star Fleet Command. They may not have reveiled how it worked but they might as well have. Did the US tell everyone, including the Japanese, when they sucessfully detonated the first Atomic Bomb....no! Note the Klingon spy did not seem to have trouble getting her hands on the tapes! BTW this is the only time we ever see a civilian owned ship in Star Trek!

that could explain why it didn1`t work so wello it WAS designed to work on a planet not create one from a nebula sure it would have the energy to do it but it wasn`t programmed to so Genesis planet had troubles.

It also had troubles because David (the scientist) used something that he knew wouldn't work as well, simply to get the project finished on time.

Uh, not really. There have been several other private owned vessels in Trek.

Yes, it was. Kirk is told once the Enterprise docks that Genesis had become a public relations nightmare since they were gone.

Kirk must have had spyware on his computer, then. Because the Klingons bought the proposal from some shady merchants.

It used Regula itself, along with the nebula. Isn't it funny, how they were searching far and wide for a dead moon with no life at all to test Genesis on, when they were orbiting one the entire time? Spock said Regula was "essentially a great rock in space"!

I thought that the report the Klingon spy got in ST3 was Kirks report of the whole Khan/Genesis/Spock dying thing. I mean Kirk was suprised when Carol Marcus was mentioned in ST2 (remember, hes with McCoy in th turbolift)

So, he probably wasn't involved in the project. Plus, if he knew that much about it, why show spock the proposal? He could have just told him...

Yes as my point says. The TNG civi ships appeared to be government owned.

The "rock" was were Phase 2 was experimented, the "cave of Wonders", while talking to Kirk, Dr. Marcus (the mother) said the matrix of the Genesis Device took two days forming, while the tunnel took the engineers two months (?).

Phase 2 should be on a lifeless "planet", and not even a single microbe should be present, per Dr. Marcus (mother, again) orders to Chekov and his comanding officer (forgot the name).

I should note that Dr. David Marcus used proto-mater (whatever the hell that is) to make Genesis work, but it was a very unstable substance, hence the decay suffered by the Genesis planet..

I don't think Regula was quite big enough, and I don't think the Genesis team really intended for the first test to be on the nebula and planetoid... I think they wanted something closer to "ideal" conditions.

While this isn't really canon, it came from the Genesis Wave books and really deserves to be canon, the devise was described as pulling in all of the matter that it could to form the planet using the Reliant and surrounding matter to form a planet core. The reason Genesis was unstable was that the elements used to make the planet were unstable and the molecuar bonds created by using gases instead of solid matter fell apart.
