Which series is going to be the next Star Trek film ?
As far as I know there will be no TNG movies after Nemesis. So the next Star Trek film has to be based on either DS9 or Voyger. Which series would you like to be made into a movie ?
I would like to see a DS9 movie of course. While DS9 was not as good as the best of TNG it was much better than Voyger. If a DS9 film is made I would like one small change to script, I would want an excuse to be made for putting Jadzia in the film. She was my favorite character in the show.

There will never be a movie based on either of TNG's bastard spinoffs. Neither Deep Sleep Nine or V'ger had the audience base of TNG at their heights and the Trek audience has been sliding like houses on a California hillside. And given that Nemesis was a boxoffice flop, the writing is already on the wall for the Franchise.

Where's the "None, you pipedreamer" option?

God stop flaming the guy.
At some point in time B&B will deside that the way for them to finally suceed will be to make a movie. XI is inevitable.
On topic, its most likely to be a DS9 one or a ENT one, VOY has reached home so theres little they could do that would continue it properly.
I personllay woulde like to see a adaption or the Millienuim Trillogy of books. But only if its nothering like the "adption" of it that was DS9:The Fallen

True. But If you use the millenium trillogy you continue the story as it (in part) shows sisko teaching the prophets.neoolong wrote:Both series ended up being about one specific goal.
DS9 had the wormhole and Dominion War.
Voyager had getting home.
Both goals were accomplished so it ended pretty much what defined them as series.
Besides wars dont just stop when peace treatys are signed. theres all the aftermath the resentment of the losing side. And really to u thing just one meld with the founder changed its mind? After all the other times odo melded with her and it did nothing?

And if they did that, I'd have to hurt someone.Crazedwraith wrote:True. But If you use the millenium trillogy you continue the story as it (in part) shows sisko teaching the prophets.neoolong wrote:Both series ended up being about one specific goal.

But they did that at the beginning of DS9 with the Cardassian War. If they did it again, it would just be overly repetitive.Besides wars dont just stop when peace treatys are signed. theres all the aftermath the resentment of the losing side.
And what would happen? Another Dominion War? That would again be overly repetitive and merely copying DS9 in order to sell tickets. And really to u thing just one meld with the founder changed its mind? After all the other times odo melded with her and it did nothing?
Crap, now you just gave B&B the plot to the next movie.

The new (old) guys
IMHO, if there is a new film, it will be based on Enterprise. And you can guarantee that B&B will loudly claim to every showbiz reporter that will listen that it isn't "Star Trek XI" it is "Enterprise I". What neither of them will understand is that will reduce the potential audience even further.

You said it CrazedWraith! The Millenium Trilogy ROCKED!
Those books would make a great movie/movies.
I don't see why people think that there is no more use for the Voyager
crew. They made it home, so now they are supposed to retire?
People seem to have a one-and-done look toward them.
As always, if used properly they could contribute to a good story.
For the next movie, they could have what is left of the TNG crew
dock at DS9, where say....some of the Voyager crew are there to
study the Wormhole. Then the Prophets get involved and you have
the plot of the movie from there.

If they make another movie, it should be done by Nick Meyer, while Berman and Braga are bound and gagged in the basement of Paramount Studios. Otherwise, they shouldn't bother.

Does it even matter? The TNG movies were Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis. Of the four, only First Contact was worth the $5.50 at the door, and even it had gaping plot holes and stupid moments. The only Trek movies that are truly excellent are ST2 and ST6, both made a long time ago and with the TOS cast. It doesn't really matter which crew is used if they make more movies, because Trek is sliding down a slippery slope.

This notion of putting every single TNG era character into a combined cast for a big movie reeks of fanboyism. It's a staple on fanfics.

TrekWars: The Furry Conflict. A unique and inventive mix of "Trek" and "Wars"--with some fur to add color.

Why not? Shoving every character you can find into a story is an almost universal fanfic writer's technique, but in a movie, you generally want to avoid an overly large cast of characters. You can't develop good drama with a huge cast of characters unless the movie is 50 hours long.Marc Xavier wrote:Oh please no. What about doing a series of films such as the Star Wars triology ? That would allow room for all the TNG era characters. Why not? I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Well, the alternative is to have most of the characters do almost nothing (read: glorified cameo) so you can concentrate on a handful of people. This would probably piss off the fans more than not including them at all.

ST4 was highly entertaining and enjoyable, but it wasn't a classic like Wrath of Kahn.Uraniun235 wrote:Hey!Arthur_Tuxedo wrote:Does it even matter? Do you know that I think Enyterprise should have been about. The adventures of the Entrerpise nil before Kirk and company takes over. The era before captian Pike, remake the TOS set and then do the show on this portion of Trek history. And before the series starts we need to fire B & B and get Star Trek back some real writers.
