What freaking garbage. what completely useless tripe.

How stupid could the Romulan Senate be? What sort of imbeciles sit there and stare at their impending doom, and how did they survive that long as Senators?

Am I the only one who looked at the whole substitution bit and said "son of a bitch, they're ripping off Bujold now"?

Am I the only one sick of the 'Let's mind-fuck Troi' fixation the writers have?

Speaking of ripping things off, could the Scimiter with 'weird particle' weapon deployed have looked any more like a Shadow warship?

Why the fuck were they firing exclusively photons and not quantums for most of the battle?

Why didn't Shinzon use the recorded Transporter pattern of Picard, or simply replicate the blood he already had, to fix himself?

And, on the lighter side, did anyone else notice how it looked like the E-E had romulan insignia on the front and back of the saucer when it headed out in the Dvd deleted scene at the end?

Sorry if all of these have already been discussed ad nauseum, but I just broke down and saw the movie, and have avoided the spoilers previously, and desperately needed to vent.

Yes, your opinion is about that that useful.

And how are they supposed to react eh? You could toss a hand grenade in the US senate floor and they wouldn't do jack shit for a couple seconds.
Am I the only one sick of the 'Let's mind-fuck Troi' fixation the writers have?
Yes, its being used only ONCE before in the series makes this such an overused plot...
Speaking of ripping things off, could the Scimiter with 'weird particle' weapon deployed have looked any more like a Shadow warship?
It looked nothing of the sort. I guess you missed its similarities with the Dominion Dreadnaught instead.
Why the fuck were they firing exclusively photons and not quantums for most of the battle?
Already adressed in another thread. They didn't have all that many torpedoes to spare.
Why didn't Shinzon use the recorded Transporter pattern of Picard, or simply replicate the blood he already had, to fix himself?
Transporters don't quite work that way. Secondly, he apparently needed something from Picards blood that couldn't be replicated.

In order now, disregarding the personal attack

Okay, I saw the thing open, and my first reaction, in real life was to hit an imaginary comm badge, and say "emergency beam out now". I had time to do this several times before gross effects set in, with no prior warning or knowledge. If they couldn't react better than that to an assassination attempt, they should never have survived to be Romulan Senators. Tht not a single one of them even tried to run for the exit, only to find them locked from the outside, or use their communicator, only to find the frequency jammed, was inexcusably bad writing, especially since their was time for both to happen before the evil Pixie dust came down and started killing them.
Lets see, the one guy mind raped her, the aliens invaded her dreams in that one episode, that weird episode involving the Tal-Shiar, the other guy artificially aged her while inflicting his negative emotions on her, notice I didn't say "telepathically raped", and these are all occurrences off the top of my head without references.

You are correct, whan I saw this, my mind said nothing about "ship unfolded looks like Dominion Dreadnought", it clearly screamed "Shadow Battlecrab"
Before deployment, I can see the resemblance to Jemhaddar really big ships, but certainly not after.

Okay, adderessed in another thread, no problem(though if a freaking Excelsior on earth patrol can be outfitted with Quantums, the Fed flagship not being fully loaded upis a bit difficult to buy). In any case link to thread please.

And yeah, I know that use of transporters in that way has always been a one-episode wonder, but Shinzon apparently didn't even try. If he had studied Picard and his crew as thoroughly as he seemed to, he should know about those incidents. Again, I blame the writing

Oh, and my apologies for posting this now, I didn't notice Wong's thread, or I would have posted this there. Feel free to fold this thread into his if you want, and he is amenable.
