Thats bad. I really liked it. Any plans for continuing it now?

You've got yourself a deal. Be warned though, the Karlack are much like that Scorpion in the story about crossing the river.

Speaking of which, I have some writing to do.

Sadly no, but it's done its job in prologuing Elysium and its barbarian wars.

The Emperor of Mankind walks around in powered armor, and even sleeps in it. You'd have to have one heck of a poison sting :D

Have you seen the stingers on some of the larger Karlack bioforms?

It's not the poison you have to worry about; it's the momentum transfer.

EDIT:

[considers]

[reviews Imperial hagioiconography]

...What about his face? Is his face wearing armor?

He walks around with a Void Shield activated. He can wear a helmet, yes.

Tsk, tsk. Senior Imperial leaders wearing their helmets, female Space Marines... you've probably got paleogeeks around the galaxy crying "HERESY!" on a daily basis. :D

This is the Imperium that is created in what I deemed as the most ideal possible. I.E. Filled to the brim with misanthropes, xenophobes, and backed with awesome technology and will to use it. :D

New update up.

It's not nice to mess with Mother Nature. Or her duly appointed babysitter.

The K-zone begs to differ.

Thus far, Mother Nature : -3, Imperium, Bragulans, +3

What? So far all the Imperium is doing is beating up technologically inferior foes here and there.

And a lot of bluster :P

You Collectors are even more bluster and total lack of mystery.

All you ahve done so far is proved that the Collectors are a bunch of paper tigers.

Cowards. You have practically sissified the Necrons. :x

I wouldn't call them cowards. They seem to have a very different way of thinking.

So, have you invaded a major Bragulan system recently?

Oh I fought the Karlacks in a major conflict, threw in over a million troops, and more ships than what was at Pendleton on the human side alone.

You?

If I wanted to start a major war in the K-Zone sure. But it would be bloody. And I doubt Siege would agree to it.

God, Dr. Susie. That was just adorable, and hilarious! They're so... petty! :D

I had to suppress my laughs lest I awake sleeping people!

Who knew?

The thing that one has to remember is that Pax Park was a minor landmark in the capital... and one that a fair chunk of the MiniEcho people in Central Administration Complex happen to have been rather fond of.

Misery loves company, and Dr. Susie can be a very companionable woman at times.

Uh...Janus was a "major conflict"? Really?

Because I managed to blink and miss the entire thing :D

I didn't say it wasn't survivable, I said it wasn't nice.

Are you going to come crying to me because I just said the God-Emperor of Man isn't nice?

EDIT: Hmmmm. A good point. I think many of the Umerian visitors to the BEEEF will be wearing traditional Umerian folk costume: Chrome Age spacesuits! Which, conveniently, just so happen to provide fairly good biohazard protection...

Well, I meant for him to be a bastard who just ordered the destruction of entire species at least more than once... The destruction of planets and ecology was to be a collateral...

Yeah, the bit about them hearing about the battle a month later is a bit of an asspull, mainly because I had just remembered that the battle was in June and this scene is set in July when I was almost done. And I didn't want to rewrite everything. Plus, it's not like I know about what's happened since then.

But such are the difficulties of Unreal Time. I figure as a justification Intel and Foreign Affairs probably know sooner. But they're being slow about sharing, at least so far as it comes to when the Grand Admirals hear about it.

Internal politics at work, perhaps?
