A gantry is a moveable platform, in this case something like a catwalk that is not fixed to that one maintenace station I think.

A gantry is a sort of platform/frame used in construction jobs. Ref:

Hi,

I just want to express my appreciation for 'Star Crossed'. It is easily one of the best ST vs. SW fanfics I've ever read. The 'darkside' version of Luke is chilling, but the presence of Han in the background is intreguing. I think that all the action is well-presented and impartially decided. I also think that the characterisations are spot-on.

What will happen to Wesley, I wonder? More importantly, what will happen when Thrawn arrives. I suspect his loyalty to the Empire might falter if he decides that the weapons he needs to beat the Vong are waiting for him in the Star Trek galaxy.

By the way, let Leia prove her Jedi credentials by killing Wesley. I was going to give the character a chance, but now he has turned darksider, he has outlived his usefulness to Q's side.

Like with other figures in the mythos of Star Wars, just because the body is dead, doesn't mean that the person is gone forever.

Or, something I've seen in several books..."Did you see the body?" If you don't see the body, you can't be sure.
