Also.
I don't know if your hyperwave signals have wavelengths, but
mine sure do...
If it doesn't have a wavelength, is it really SCIENCE!?

Sorry about the absense, I have been busy with school and will be for another week and a half. I should be able to catch up after that.

Posted! The last act is yet to be written and I promise to give it my best, but that's the turning point of the Battle of Zebes.
The music choice is a bit stereotyped, but it fits the mood, I think. There is, after all, the revelation of a true form...

One idea you might save for later: Joey Jojo and his family die ignoble and easily preventable deaths from cholera, plague, or pneumonia as a demonstration of the deathcare system.
And now I go to work on the next chapter of the Toolverine subplot.

Joey Jojo has a special ending reserved for him.

Wow, that's laying it on so thick the entire thing is about to collapse from the weight of it.
At this point I am seriously tempted to send a Star Cruiser to Algeira to commence a reprisal bombardment due to, well, I'll think of something.

Yes, Murcan civilization is collapsing. Due to the viciousness, stupidity, rampant anti-intellectualism, and reactionary-fascist impulses of the more heavily armed faction of its citizenry.
That's the point.
Think of it as an exercise in "be careful what you wish for..."
Of course, what I'd like to see is what's happening to the Murcan version of Stephen Colbert. And his #1 threat!

I have some ideas for Murca, but it depends on me developing the story of the crew of the Turtles. So, hopefully things in Murca stay exciting for a good long while.

Except it's not really a cautionary tale about going too far the other way, it's a dark comedy caricature of the subjects done for shits and giggles by people who disagree with them.

Off the top of my head I can think of a number of nominally "be careful what you wish for" stories that amount to the same thing.
Consider it a way to blow off steam raised by very sincere concerns about the future of, ah, Murcan democracy.

No kidding, right? I have to imagine there's a fair degree of outrage 'back home' for me, as well.

So far, everything they have written about comes from the words of actual right wingers. In fact, the Murcan government is actually more liberal than some Tea Party candidates from Florida.
Have a very nice day.

I am actually kind of liking the Murca storyline. It is caricature but sometimes satire lets you say things in a manner that is more illustrative than the nuanced way you say things in normal argument. I especially like the irony of Shrubya's naive but very poignant questions and the inability of the Murcans to actually spell out what their ideals actually entail. it is a very comical reflection of certain aspects of modern politics.

Simon and PeZook were bouncing around an idea about Anglian commandos wreaking havoc in Murca, so you could play around with that once the Anglians find out where planet Almera is. It's an uncharted world, remember?
If you haven't played through any of the
Modern Warfare games, though, you should do a bit of reading and YouTube watching first before you get to writing.
Here,
here,
here, and
here should be good places to start.

I'm working on a BEEEF post. It takes place on a firing range where the Bragulans are testing out Centrality weapons and writing down what they think of them.

The great thing about satire is that removing the need for plausibility removes the need for explanations. You don't have to confine your characters' reactions to what they would logically be expected to do- which lets you express far more, far more compactly.

If the previous thing I posted about the porn pavilion was the worst thing I'd ever written, this is a million times worse. An orbital bombardment would be a mercy killing for them, as one person noted.

Murca is an uncharted world, so for the sake of PeZook and my storylines, I'd rather not have the interstellar community popping up there before we're done.
Also, a whole lot of the Murca content is inspired by the Hypothetical Posts from Conservative Americans, so yeah. We're just writing what they're saying.
Great post, Mayabirdies. See, everyone is loving it. Be patriotic, Steve!

Except Elysium got it right and got Rock Stronggo.
The Murcans, as usual, got it wrong and ended up with... Suck Wronggo.
Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!
