The added twist to that is that according to novelisations Saavik had been sleeping with Marcus, Kirk's son. Wee love triangle for you there.

:wtf: I suppose that was because of the ½ Romulan part of her (that was also dropped from the movies)?

Either that or Marcus was even more Kirk like than Kirk. He'd have to be to bag himself a Vulcan babe.

Kirk's son was called David. The actor was called Marcus.

Eh, not exactly. Dr. David Marcus was played by the late actor Merritt Butrick

"Year of Hell" was one of the best Voyger episodes. It can hardly be described as shitty.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Most Voyger episodes were dull but some were good like "Futures End" and "Year of Hell"

And that one in season 2 where Tuvok goes psycho. It was worth it to see him strangle Neelix, even if it was on the holodeck, and even if it was due to some psychobabble reason (I always thought it was standard program he used every day, just that particular day it wasn't helping).

I remember that one. He said something like "Mr Neelix you know you talk too much" and then proceeded to strangle him. It was pretty cool to see Tuvok do that.

TUVOK: "Mr Neelix, leave me alone."
NEELIX: "Aw, c'mon Mr. Vulcan - smile for me!"
TUVOK (almost to himself): "What must I do to get you to leave me alone?"
NEELIX: "Just a tinsy weeny little smile."
(Neelix uses his finger to pull one side of Tuvok's lips into a 'smile')
NEELIX: "That's it, Mr Vul-"
(Tuvok strangles Neelix. The latter pleads for mercy through the gurgling noise; CLOSE on Tuvok's cold, emotionless face as the life drains out of Neelix, who finally dies. Tuvok then discards the useless baggage)

:o :D 8) *sighs* If only more of VOY was like this.
