Belgrade, Balkan Confederacy

It was a busy day for Prime Minister Shady Sirah. He had a rather large mess to clean up and he had to consolidate his power. The High Council as expected sided with him and so did most other people of interest who mattered. Most of the remaining royalists had already been either killed in the fighting or arrested and imprisoned. Things were going better than he expected, and he had even begun to make arrangements for Alexander's funeral. Unfortunately Sofia was devastated by the loss of her father and there was very little Sirah could do to comfort her, but he tried to do his best.
Some even wanted to simply bury the Emperor in a hole and forget about him, but Sirah would hear of no such thing. Alexander may have been a bastard near the end of his life, but he was the Emperor of the Balkan Confederacy and as such he would have the funeral worthy of an Emperor. Those who didn't show the Emperor proper respect soon found themselves targets of the Prime Ministers wrath.
After working hard to settle domestic matters, Sirah turned his attention to foreign business. He had a lot of unanswered mail to go through. First he had to assure the Aegian Axis that the Confederacy is still a member and that what they had achieved together was not ruined by recent events. Shady picked up a diplomatic telegram from the Sultanate, and after carefully reading it, began writing down a response.

From the Egyptian Sultanate to the Balkan Confederacy
Your excellency,
It is with great sadness that His Exalted Majesty the Sultan has learned of the emergency that has recently befallen your nation. With the resolution of this crisis in your favour the Greater Diwan of the Egyptian Sultanate recognizes your government as the legal authority of the Balkan Confederacy by virtue of popular sovereignty.
Since it pains us greatly to see our friends and allies in such dire straits, we politely inquire what help we may provide to alleviate any discomforts the people of the Balkan Confederacy may be experiencing. We further wish you to know that the Caliph of Cairo will pray for your fallen Emperor and all others who perished during the troubles.
May the blessings of Allah be upon you,
Ali Dessaix Pasha,
Wazir al-Istishara of the Sultan of Egypt
A note to the Sultanate was written, soon followed by a note to the Byzantine Empire. From the Balkan Confederacy to the Egyptian Sultanate
My friend,
It is with great joy that I read your words, in these trying times, it brings me and the people of the Confederacy great happiness to know that our great allies still stand by our side and are extending their hand in friendship - once again proving the strength of our friendship and our alliance.
I assure you that the Balkan Confederacy remains your friend and ally, now and for all eternity and I am glad that we can work together on solving any and all problems that may befall us. I thank the mighty Caliph for his prayers and I thank the Sultanate and it's most wise leader for your words of support and friendship in this matter.
It is my hope that we can soon meet face to face and discuss matters of importance, perhaps you would allow me to be your most gracious host? The Confederacy wishes to prove itself worthy of it's allies and it's membership in the Aegian Axis.
May the blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you,
Shady Sirah,
Prime Minister of the Balkan Confederacy
Now for the Germans, a telegram and an answer had to be sent to them as well. From the Balkan Confederacy to the Byzantine Empire
Your excellency,
It is with mixed feelings that I inform you of the resolution of recent events, the Confederacy was divided, but once again it stands united and strong. It is our greatest hope that you will continue to stand with us in these trying times. The Confederacy wishes to assure you that we remain a loyal ally and member of the Aegian Axis.
Even more so, we remain your friends and hope that the recent problems will not have bad consequences for our friendship. We wish to propose a meeting like the one in which our great alliance was formed, and we wish to be your most gracious hosts so that we can hopefully make up for the problems that recent events caused and once again reaffirm our great alliance and our even greater friendship.
With Respect,
Shady Sirah,
Prime Minister of the Balkan Confederacy

Your Imperial and Royal Majesties,
your Excellencies.
The German Empire is concerned about possible attempts to mine the Gulf of Aden and would like to humbly suggest a mutual exchange of information as well as a coordination of efforts to prevent any such damaging act to our economy.
The German Empire welcomes any suggestion or opinion on the matter.

Sänger, Reichskanzler
With that done, Sirah decided to rest for a while. He still had a lot of things to take care of and it seemed he would be quite busy from now on. But he didn't mind, such was the burden of those in power. From the Balkan Confederacy to the German Empire
Your excellency,
It is my hope to find you in good health. It is my wish to reassure the German Empire that all treaties they signed with the Balkan Confederacy remain valid with the new government, as always we remain a friend to the German people. And although our nation has just passed a turbulent period, we still wish to uphold to our responsibilities to the world and our neighbors.
As such the matter of the Gulf of Aden concerns us greatly, as it is a serious problem that threatens to disrupt our trade routes as well. The Confederacy agrees to the sharing of information and wishes to cooperate with the German Empire in the resolution of this problem.
The Confederacy wishes to inform you that we are contemplating sending additional ships to the area to help protect our trade routs and shipping and as well to discourage and prevent any attempt at mining the area.
With respect,
Shady Sirah,
Prime Minister of the Balkan Confederacy
