My OOB is "finished."
As an aside, my fluff ships, like the industrials and the 115-class destroyer? If any of you want them involved with your nation (as civilian-owned or pirate-owned, or whatever), feel free.

I'm still playing, but I will be unable to do anything until January. Someone put me somewhere not too far from Earth, my faction was part of the Empire. Also, I'll be a bit light on the background, I'll develop it as the game goes rather than info-dumping in the OOB.

What's the name of your guys Adrian? You don't even have a holding post up on the OOB, so it's a little hard to give them a location if I don't know what to call them.

Sorry... I've been busy with ALS. I'll have most of the fluff up tonight.

I think we've got rules set up, most of our players ready.. let's get this show on the road.
How about we get ready to start the main thread? I'm writing already.

I'm pretty much ready to rock, although it would be unfair of me to really get moving before those closest to me finalize their OOBs.
Oh, and Crossroads, double check Neph's OOB. She's declared as an aggressor state, so you may very well be between a rock and a hard place there. Incidentally, while looking over your OOB Neph, I'm confused as to how you're tracking your points. For example, you don't seem to be counting your starship specializations. And what exactly is your improved technology? Or your improved industry?

Oh, BTW, I'd like to register as an aggressor nation.

I did count my specs actually. But okay, I found I was actually about 300 points UNDER. I recounted, and got them to something like 1998 points.
My advanced technology and yards? Well, gameplay wise by our established rules, they're mostly for flavor. I don't intend to build +20O specced vessels or whatnot, so I largely left them vague. Same with the shipyards, as I am not (yet?) building any giant juggernauts.
I'll talk, CR.

Okay, well then perhaps a third counter is needed because I've got your basic fleet coming in at:
4*45 = 180
7*54 = 378
4*22 = 88
29*8 = 232
15*12 = 180
26*15 = 390
25*10 = 250
60*8 = 480
Total = 2178
And okay, your Improved Industry is for building bigger ships? Okay, that's cool, let's you have the Repulse class anyway. But which technology are you upgrading? You can't just say "technology", it has to be specific like hyperdrives, stealth, defence, comms, etc.

Frack. I need to recheck my counting again. Maybe I missed a class.
I was going to have that general one probably be primarilly generally decent space drives/power generation, even though I'm not spending spec points on that.
My improved industry if anything is for SMALLER ships, in better quantity. I could turn that into a production bonus... I was mainly judging from the wiki actually, given it says nothing about how that's being handled. Same on the improved tech, which just meant I can 'exceed normal boundries'. I thought it allowed hulls of over 50 to be built, not over 50 'total'. Ah well, if that's the case, I suppose I can keep it as is.
Edit: I fixed my mistakes. I cut down on the Aurora class drastically (and repurposed them to avoid redundancy), cut several ships out of the Majestic class, and removed 2 Onslaughts. It should equal 2k now.

Actually, in the early stages it was decided that improving your production bonuses was a major no-no. Might have changed by now, but I'm 99% certain you can't do that. Besides, your Repulse class comes in at 60 points with its specializations, so you either need to redesign it to come in under 50 points or spent the points on the shipyards to build that big. Obviously you can roleplay it as highly advanced technology coming in small packages, but mechanics wise you still have "big" ships that need "big" docking bays.

Ah. Our older talk is quite confusing with so many pages.
Well, I rechecked, it's all 2000. I'll keep my tech for building larger ships, and leave the Repulse-class as it is.

Improving production is a no no. The only way to increase production is to capture someone else's worlds.
Oh, and a near complete OOB is up for me.

Checking over OOBs:
Chamarans: only 79 points of "planets". Only 1880 points of ships.
117th crusade: racial points not explained, only 1400 points of ships, no planets
Quaros: 7 xenotech pickets should cost 175 instead of 125, which would bring your total up to the correct 2200 pts.
Kushawni: Kushawni National Guard has 1200 pts of ships, not 1050 as listed. Imperial Kushawni starforce only has 90 pts of ships, not the 135 listed. Bustermachine #12 costs 16 pts, not 17 as you have listed.
I'll get to the Internationale and the Enclave later.

Question is:
I think I am an "successor state" in the loosest terms, since I am not originally of outsider making. Correct?
Secondly, why have this "agressor" thing? Isn't everyone and their mother taking 200 points extra, Just Because? Or is there any hidden counter balance bonus of Not being an agressor state?

I went over my national gaurd numbers twice, they break down to:
Battleship = 25 x 4 =100
Battlecruiser 20 x 10 =200
Destroyer O = 15 x 20 = 300
Destroyer D = 15 x 20 = 300
Destroyer S = 15 x 10 = 150
Thats 100+200+300+300+150 = 1050
Where did you get 1200?
Also:

As I understand it,m if your agressive, you HAVE to attack on you openning move.

Basically, if you're an agressor, you get the 200 bonus points, but you give free rein to the mods to completely fuck you over if you dick around too much. Not only that, but if you're going to apply for aggressor status you had better show a willingness to go in and fuck other people up for their stuff, otherwise the mods will be well within their rights to simply say no if you don't look aggressive enough.
Incidentally, for the pre-game I'm going to start sending out intelligence agents to look for good tour stop over locations in the Syndicalist International, 117th Crusade, and Golden Cloud Institute. I figure I should get that sort of thing out of the way now so that I can launch my first strikes immediately.

Hmm, on a similar vein to Academia's. i'm announcing that Chamaran corvette's will have been scouting out the kushwani province for two weeks before the start of the game, dropping spherical probes into decaying orbits around their stars(probes self destruct if anyone gets close to them though) and in general just being mysterious and alien. Not answering hails and stuff and just running off when confronted.

Also, the technical definition of an aggressor was someone who was going to begin the game with an attack--regardless of where, really, so long as it was over 200 points worth of ships. We've moved from that to a more RP-y definition of aggression but the distinction is mostly visible at the beginning of the game.
Aggressors are those who've built up an attack force before the game starts (like mine, for example) and who are going to try to pull Pearl Harbors on their neighbors.
One of the issues before is that it'd take people several, if not more than 10, turns before they start attacking each other--and this was a mess. Aggressors MUST attack the first turn, otherwise they are simply not acting aggressively, as these are not 'bonus' ships.
The lightest punishment would simply be deducting 200 points from their shipping total, plus a penalty amount of some value of money from next turn's production. If people did nom to mod me, that's what I'd suggest as a punishment for an Aggressor not attacking that first turn, so that people can't take it and say "If I do attack, I'll use these..."
Really, it's a 'first punch, second punch' sort of thing. You're an aggressor if you throw the first punch. If you throw a punch after that, no matter how angrily, you're not the aggressor.

Hmmm... about what you said, perhaps the in game explanation for why an aggressor that gets hit before striking loses their stuff could be that they got "Pearl Harbored", which is to say that wherever they were hit, they had their aggressor bonus fleet stationed and helpless, and it all gets blown to hell. Encourages getting them the fuck out of the drydocks by the first or second post.
Also, I think we're at the point where we could start up a game thread and simply label all time stamps Pregame and forbid the movement of ships into foreign territory. This would let those ready play around with politicking and intelligence ops and begin positioning their forces advantageously. Does that sound okay?
