I just did.

So there's more to the matter of "discussing" this incident with the Byzantines. But I need to eat dinner, first.

I must have posted that at the same time as your response.

Yeslah: "Well, that was quick."

So we're now on track.

Interesting, Baerne. I don't have as strong a mental picture of your stuff as I should, perhaps, but I do like this latest.

Question. About those gunboat-carriers, what's the status on them? Will they be involved in any of this?

The ones I bought from Hiigara? Those are off participating in the MEHStomp. I'll get into it in a later post, but Seagrace isn't doing things as spur-of-the-moment as it appears; she's been using her influence as a high aristocrat and senior fleet commander to get untrustworthy people sent out of the country - and guess who the conspiracy running things gave the assignment of commanding the new carriers?

Well, I know I'm sending you Audrey Cardwell as a trainer and consultant for gunship operations.

But she's nowhere near ready to get into a cockpit- doctor's orders.

Added the complete Brew-station to the Plot line index, though there might be a latter follow up.

ed: oh yes criticism is welcomed. Though I know that I had Dharaz agree to having the amount of time between meals to do this, then he ate a meal and still the clock was ticking. I'm just thinking that the difference between ship time and station time are to blame and leave it at that.

Huh, with that near-clash with the Byzantines, I was wondering to whethever or not send more units. The Centrality wouldn't want a repeat performance.

It's not like you'd be operating in MEH-space with just the Byzantines.

True. I'll just operate away from them.

...Yeah, I had absolutely NO fucking clue what I was thinking when I put that together. I watched this, and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

For curiosity's sake, the English script before I ran it through Google Translate:
OFFICER 1: We have encountered some raw footage of Madoka Magica episode 3. Most of us are waiting for the cryptography section to translate it, but some of us have already seen the raw footage. We have also accessed archived discussions of the episode, some dating back as far as 1400 years ago.

STEINER: Then tell me what happened in this episode.

OFFICER 2: Colonel, in episode 3...

OFFICER 3: ...Mami died by getting her head bitten off. Her corpse was also devoured.

STEINER: Those who haven't read episode 3's summary, read the episode 3 discussions, or watched episode 3, leave.

STEINER: What the fuck is this?! What fucking devil possessed Shinbo to direct like that?! I've been waiting an entire week to watch that badass Mami again, and they fuck her up like this?! They had her chewed up and spit out like a piece of gum, and I didn't even get to see the corpse! What the fuck do you think a magical girl anime is?! Damn it!

OFFICER 1: But when she died, the reception of the anime shot up!

STEINER: Fuck your reception, you bastard! I watch this anime because of Mami! The other characters are none of my damn business!

OFFICER 1: Blu-ray preorders also rose to number one back when it first aired! Holodisk sales of the latest versions still remain high even today!

STEINER: So what if it remains a bestseller?! Why do I have to actually buy it if there's no more Mami?! This is a magical girl anime! The themes must be warmth, contentment, love, hope, dreams! We shouldn't be getting a depressing drama set against dark and gloomy backgrounds! If I wanted to watch a sadistic and bloody anime, I'd just go watch the latest version of Saya no Uta! God knows how many times I've seen that shit! This is a fucking fraud! If you want to direct it, then just tell that damn Abe to come here and suck my balls!

STEINER: I just want a cheerful magical girl anime. A cute, extremely moe one that could brighten up my dreary life even just a little bit. Why couldn't they just do that for me, damn it?

STEINER: And that damn Urobuchi, he said he would make the audiences feel warm and contented! Fuck your warmth and contentment! My Mami had her head ripped off in episode 3! Episode 3! He even mocked the audience, saying that everything he said before was a lie, that the story would just get gloomier! The anime has twelve episodes! Do you intend to kill off one girl every three episodes?!

SECRETARY: Don't worry. I'm sure all of them will be resurrected in the last episode, just like in Mai-Hime.

STEINER: I now believe that they are the source of all evil. Shinbo, Urobuchi, even Shaft. They're all bastards. I expected something cute, but in the end, all I got was carnage. Buy the disks and burn them all.
Maybe Volkslanders really do speak bastardized Internet-translator German. Who knows?

Assuming hse arrives in mid-3401, she'd be working with the crew and complement of the Kestrel-class carrier I bought from New Anglia - the Starfleet's planning to use it to develope carrier doctrine until there are enough of them to form a squadron.

It's like the Taiwanese parliament crossed with the Sith.

...I would pay good money and one of Shroom's kidneys to watch that, come to think of it.

Where they shout AXIS KAST three times?

Goddamn Langley, did you just make a text version of one of those Downfall parodies? :D

Yes. Perhaps the leader of Volksland actually survived his assassination, and now lives in hiding watching animus!

Why, yes I did, Shroom. Like I mentioned earlier, it was a good idea at the time, and I just couldn't resist. I actually considered asking Thanas for help with a proper German translation at one point, but then I thought it'd be funnier if the Volksies couldn't even speak their own language properly, because I'm positive that what passes for their German is absolutely riddled with grammatical errors.

It's too bad most of the good Downfall parodies were purged from YouTube long ago. I'd actually follow up on your idea of the Volksie dictator surviving his assassination, going insane, and spending his time holed up in a bunker watching animus and doing other random shit. I guess we'll have to settle for the trials, tribulations, and misadventures of Standartenführer Markus Steiner, then. It's a big galaxy, and there's still so much for him and his crew to do...

Good News: I've moved to my temporary location in Kansas City.

Bad News: The internet in this hotel shows an average ping of 1071 ms to Google's DNS servers, which I am currently using. I suspect the high ping is what is preventing my IM client (pidgin) from connecting to the SDNW4 chatroom.

I'm booked at this location for another 2 months.

I sympathize with the Solarian observers- I for one would have put a good deal more activity in there if it weren't for real life being troublesome over the past month. Bleh.
