After reading about Murca, I now want to write something about it. Anything that can break my writer's block, even temporarily, is sorely welcomed at this point.
In other news, while searching around for other methods to break my writer's block, I managed to stumble upon one of the threads for
STGOD 2k7. Pretty clear where the Chamarrans and the Xylyx originated from. My own Congress of Colonial Settlements could be considered a proto-Holy Empire in a few ways. The Grand Republic of the Sky Bear greatly comes off as a lighter and softer version of the Bragulan Star Empire, while the Cretacean Confederacy is likewise reminiscent of the NenAltKik. Thirdfain's Polish Hegemony/Republic should be some interest to PeZook.

The Bragulans originated from a worldbuilding thing Siege and I were part of from the early 2000s. They're ridiculously old school, like from my first ventures into sci-fi writing.
Murca, and the world Algeira, is isolated from the rest of the galaxy. Their own people actually don't know anything about the rest of the universe, which explains why they mobilized
X-COM when the Collectors came sneaking around. PeZook and I have an arc planned for it, aside from random allegories of cryptofascist fantasies, so if you want to write something about it, kindly PM either of us.

I think you've already told me about the origin of the Bragulans, and I even found at least one of your early stories involving them during a random search of the User Fiction forum. It's just that the fact that there was another nation of space bears in a previous STGOD amuses me. And mang, I had absolutely NO idea what the fuck I was doing way back then.

Yup The Chamarrans get re-invented by me for each space STGOD.

The message in question:
Zor wrote:From: The Right Honorable Jun Smith, Prime Minister of the Nova Atlantean Commonwealth of Worlds
To: All nations save the Byzantine Imperium, Bragulan Star Empire, Karlack Swarm, Orks and the Pfhor Empire
In the name of helping to promote the noble cause of Interstellar Peace, the Nova Atlantean Commonwealth of Worlds has decided to hold a joint naval review in the Nova Australia system in the beginning of 3401

Excellent update, comrade Siege.
And no, we probably will not be attending the naval review. For one, we didn't actually get the message, and we don't actually want others to get a good look at our actual capabilites. We may send observers and/or spy probes to look at your fleets, though.
Have a very nice day.

Ah, the merry adventures of the crew of Turtles All The Way Down.
I'm working on a BEEEF post on and off today, should post this evening after I've had a chance to consult with a few friends on some of the details.

They're the most functional crew in the galaxy! And they certainly have all the psychic might they think they have!

My inspiration for that sales pitch goes back months, before the Shroomanists and before the BEEEF. Zack the Shroomanist was added later as a catalyst- here is the kind of marketing consultant who would think of the sales pitch.

I leik it. I dunno if Brag vacuum tubules would be that fragile - but still, any human tubule that matches or even (gasp) surpasses a Bragulan tubule would catch the mighty attention of Bragule, for the Imperator cannot allow a TUBULE GAP! Maybe the Bragulan forgot that it was a puny human who was using the frying pan as a badminton racket! Still, awesome presentation and the perfect sales talk to convince a Bragulan.
PS:
@ FORCE LORD
You can rob the bank while the Pope is visiting the Feelipeens.

Bragulans are of course invited to engage in further destructive testing of complementary Spacely Sprockets samples, and to do comparison testing of their parameters compared to Bragulan hardware in both durability
and electrical performance. Electrical performance counts too, da?
Additional frying pans will be provided, naturally.

Frying pans? The hell is going on here?
And on that note, hi. Just registered for this site, mainly because I thought SDN Worlds looked interesting. If at all possible, I shall conquer you all.

heys.
Free advice, look up user Chaotic neutral and the reactions he received through attempting to play the game. He's practically the embodiment of how not to play an STGOD and a nicely concentrated package of things to avoid.
