Ha, if you think you can pull it off in a halfway convincing manner, I say knock yourself out. Considering what we know about Japanistan however, I don't think that's really possible without some ridiculous bloodshed. Which is a far cry from what we know about Velaria, which is after all filled with failed states that people meddle with (for good or for bad) all the time. Zor didn't really do anything that Coyote didn't already do in Rangatara, for example. Of course he did it "ala Zor", and that you can have plenty of issues with, but then again he reaped (and is reaping) the consequences of that.
So I find myself wondering... Are people jumping in here because they see an interesting opportunity for a fun story or because they dislike Zor's style of gaming? For me it's the former, and I talked my storyline through with Zor (who, shock of shocks, subsequently did nothing to derail said storyline). But I'm sort of getting the impression that that's not the same for everybody here.

There's always the option of nukes. It would have come to nuking anyhow when it is between Japanistan and Byzantium.
Coyote approached Valeria with gloves and a carrot. Zor on the other hand, simply created factions, and hit rivals with a sledgehammer.
But regardless, the point being is that we can't go ignoring what happened in the past.

I only jumped in when it was clear that Zor was pursuing a certain aggressive policy there. I warned Zor in the comment thread pages ago that the Sultan of Syria would have to a say on something if Zor went pursuing such an aggressive policy. He ignored, and well, there you go.
You might have noted that I have posted very little on the said issue in the story thread and let things play out. After all, not all the players have had their say on the issue, like phongn.

I wasn't talking specifically about you, but whatever: as long as we're all on the same page here.

Phong did give me the green light to have Tonkin start reacting to Zoria before he started posting again, so I'm leaving that to him. As it is, I made references in a couple of posts to the Tonkinese becoming increasingly irritated by the growing conflict in East Veleria.

Tonkin's pretty much done major investments into the three relatively stable nations to the NE of Velaria (Rangatara, Akori and New Olympia, concentrating on the first one); it was written some game-years ago but I think it would've been reasonable to consider it continuous. Various other players have taken Tonkin into account elsewhere (e.g. Wilkens and the Caymans) so I assumed people sort of took that into account.
Should the situation have changed, uh, I'll have to look into that.
As for Hadhramara, it's sort of outside my immediate sphere of influence so long as the civil war doesn't spread north or the new "central government, " for what it's worth, doesn't annoy Tonkin's interests. But I'll start staging aircraft in Rangatara just to be sure ...

I don't know how this would work out, and it's kind of silly to ask but, can I play too?
It just looks like you chaps are having a jolly grand time and I'd just love to come in and spoil it all for you, but if it would disrupt the established order of your little planet then that works also.

We've retconned new nations into existence from plain nothingness before, so I daresay you're welcome to join us. We'd have to find you a spot on the map though. Or alternatively you could pick up one of those Velarian crapholes to play with

.

Zablorg, please pick a nation full of Hinduists and Kali-worshipping deathcults of thuggees and dacoits! You can have cursed Angkor Wats and temples of doom!

If it doesn't violate anything I'd prefer to run a society entirely of Batmeng, but I do love temples of doom.
Decisions, decisions...

If you get a country, Zablorg, please call it Ford Prefect's Country.
Siege just told me that some asshole took over Ford Prefect's Country and renamed it Miratroo or something.
We need Ford Prefect's Country. It'll be like a New Zealand, with potatoes cooked into Ford fries.
it can be infested with hinduists who worship kali in deathcults in temples of doom
And mang, let it'll give us a chance to have Shroomanian Mercenary Aces fly in and get hired to kick ass.
EDIT:
zablorg
come on, naming your country 'Ford Prefect's Country' would be kickass.

He can stick himself in one of the stabler regions of Velaria. The entire place isn't a super-Somalia, you know.
He can then be the bastion of our awesome efforts to make the place cool again!

I wouldn't be opposed to having another player on Frequesue, but the simple fact is that I don't think there are any nations left that aren't either NPC holes-in-the-ground with a lot of history, or player nations. We'd have to add a bunch of islands or something...

Zablorg can't come to Frequesque. The only country left is to the south of my nation, and I have, uh,
plans for them once Miratia's grown up a bit.
He'd have a kingdom or something, which would immediately make invading them over a percieved insult at a later date impossible.
Shroom Man 777 wrote:<same old chatroom-quality shit he always writes whenever given the chance>
Must you always say the stupidest things? If you weren't intelligent enough to purposely mispell "Miratia" I would've continued to think you were some kind of misguided chatbot.

Shroom
is a misguided chatbot. It's part of his unique charm.
Frequesque is certainly approaching capacity as a storage place for player nations, but we could just add some islands. Actually, if the islands were between Frequesque and Velaria, we could have arguments about whether or not it counts as part of Frequesque. Geographical controversy! How often does that come up?

Ryan, the country south of you, are you referring to the one west of Tian Jiao (the big river delta one)?
