And Zor is going to pave Veleria before we can get the dionosaurs on there! Bah!
Thanks Mang. :D

And hell yeah, we need to unleash Shroomzilla on those Zorian Bastards. :P

Shroom, good job on the jihad.

And Damn, I need to get my country up to date. How long has it been? Two years?

P.S. Zor, I had some scientists of mine come to Valeria with your initial expedition, can I count them as still being there?

I also had a few scientists working in eastern Velaria alongside the initial Zorian expedition as well, but they and their Langley Marine Corps escorts quietly withdrew from the region long ago.

On another note, it would stand to reason that the Fist of Allah would not be the only jihadi privateer submarine out there...

One of the current Wilkonian projects is an attempt to harness the energy of office gossip to power our entire rail system, we figure a .01% capture rate will still be enough to do the job :D

Zor a few things:

1. By the time your ship gets to the survivors, the sub will be long gone.

2. The submarine is quiet enough you might not detect it.

Essentially, you are going to have to work harder to find it.

I handled it, since I figured Siege would like to post at least another chapter before Zor sinks the boat :P

And BTW, how do you know the name of the sub?

Yeah, tell me about it. There's no way that destroyer could possibly even know what sank the boat until it actually hauled the survivors up. By then the boat could be anywhere.

The survivors didn't know the name of the sub either.

EDIT: BTW, does anybody else think that doing a speed run to engage a submarine from 100 kilometers away and then arrogantly announcing you're going to attack them is asking to get a couple of torpedos shoved down your throat?

EDIT2: And just in order to not look anti-Zorian, I threw Zor a bone :)

ZOR:

You should totally let Siege play with his FIST OF ALLAH thing for a little while, man. It's totally awesome.

(awesomer than shinto vikings and gyrojets anyway)

And for the hell of it, let's assume the Zorians gave those nutters a nicer submarine.
I still don't know why the Steve Shroomwin is described as a Foxtrot, yet depicted as a Type VII U-boat. Same thing happened with Karmic Knight's Black Barracuda project, with the first prototype resembling a Type VII despite being derived from the Sturgeon class SSN.

As for a nicer submarine that the Zorians could give to Shroomcocks for his privateering efforts, personally I'd suggest either a Yƫshio or a Kobben, in keeping with Zoria's Japanese-Norse motif.
You know, I was just looking for pictures to use and I searched for pictures from the movie U-571 because I really wanted to have a picture of Bon Jovi as a submariner.

A quick question, since I'm sort of new to Velarian affairs: Where exactly is Zorian Velaria? On the east or the west coast?

East one, I think.

And BTW, if you didn't notice: the type 209 has an 8000 mile range, so it simply cannot operate near Velaria without a base or support ship of some sort. The Zorians now know the name and class, so you can be certain they're gonna be making lots of recon photos of local ports (and bomb it later :P)

Well, it's entirely possible that the shelter is like the U-Boat submarine hardened shelters which are underground...

Velaria is a barely mapped shithole. It is possible that the submarine could dock and resupply in a HUEG subterranean river converted into a subterranean port!

It'll be like a James Bond lair! Hoho!

EDIT: Also, depth charges? Why not an ASW torpedo?
And why the hell were they running on the surface, anyway?

PeZook, please make the FASTA guys see the massive smoke plumes over Arabia from orbit.

And maybe FASTA could have Shroomania develop launch facilities on Comona as well. We bought some Silver Streaks from San Dorado. Call them... Dyna-Shrooms!

Yay! :D

Story purposes mostly... If they get hit by a torp the damage won't be very reparable. Which it has to be for the story to continue. Besides, torpedoes are just not sporting.
And why the hell were they running on the surface, anyway?
Diesel subs have a way longer range when they're running surfaced, do they not?

IIRC, I made a post about it a while ago. Or didn't I?

Either way, we'll need another launch center in the near future, to handle superheavy loads necessary to support a Moon base and a Mars outpost :D

Oh! Shit! I forgot to welcome Langley into FASTA! Don't hate me Manga-Guys!

P.S.

What massive smoke plumes?
Siegetank wrote: Diesel subs have a way longer range when they're running surfaced, do they not?
They did in WWII, these days it's the other way around: they're designed for underwater performance. Witness the fact no sub today has a proper wave-cutting bow, so they have to push a lot of water when surfaced.

And, of course, a dead sub has no range at all, so you might say that a surfaced diesel sub has a range of 0 :D

The Wiki told me differently... Have I been misdirected? If so, I invoke the right of Story Purposes (again :)).

A fair point, and one which captain Mohammad will surely remember next time :D.

True! Hrm... but the Silver Streak was operational first, and Shroomania was working with the San Doradoans on it...

How about Shroomania uses the Silver Streak for now. But San Dorado is planning, with its aerospikes, for a Venture Star type of SSTO or something. Shroomania intends to work with them on that, and I guess the entire FASTA could collaborate on one giant awesome project rather than work on separate individual designs?

SSTO! SSTO! SSTO!

Also, it is an awesome coincidence that the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah had his awesome concert right after Saladin's declaration!

You did? Cool! Maybe Comona will start launching its own loads in the near future, then.

Launching loads...

Carter's gonna have busy days ahead of him.

There is the Tu-2000 which again is an intra-SNC project....

As for the MiG-105 space plane. It only appears to be operation later, only because I was too lazy to post anything.
